Who Will be the Next Villa Manager
Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
The club had got to the stage that it needs sorting out, I think we all agree.
I said a few days ago that the standard of people being appointed to the board will be reflected in the quality of the next manager, I said before, Moyes minimum for me, ill be gobsmacked if Garde remains.
I would add, Randy you bonehead, why the fuk did you wait this long for you yankie babbling silverspoon lemon sucking dimwit bafoon bastard.

Now that its official and Garde has gone, we can all keep our fingers crossed that the top brass get the appointment of a manager right this time, it would make a change.

Has to be moyes or Pearson for me. Both have experience of lower league both have been successful (relatively). Most importantly given the tossers who make up our first team, neither would put up with any shit.

I think you need to add Gary Monk to that list.

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
Right - Ill start the ITK off (this isn't even itk - just a rumour)
I was making a substantial purchase (well for me) at the weekend - This involved me going into the back office of the shop - low and behold it was decked out with Aston Villa stuff so invetiably we got talking - this geezer claimed to know Kmac - anyway what he told me was:-
Moyes isn't viewed as gettable by the villa board
Pearson has a lot of support
But (and heres the bombshell) - Gary Monk is very serious contender - apparently he is known to Bernstein
Probably a load of shite - but it might explain why Monk, (who appears to have none of what we are looking for) is riding pretty high in the betting.
My thoughts
The fact that villa have moved early to dismiss Garde IMO - and bernsteins comments about time - might mean the new guy is coming in sooner rather than later. Also the club statement doesn't give a time line on Eric Blacks tenure - ie it doesn't say 'until the end of the season'
Could it be we have someone snared - who we just couldn't let slip away ? [Moyes]

Absolutely, we must learn from our mistakes and get this one RIGHT!
Make Moyes gettable then!

Moyes works. Rowett works. Anyone else and I'd rather see JG coming back

Moyes now favourite on betfair.
What would impress me if we got Moyes is that he wouldn't represent the easy option.
Popular rumour is that Paddy Riley spoke to moyes after Sherwoods Axing - I wonder if he is the go between - hence why he hasn't been sacked.

If Riley stays we're going to go through the whole nonsense all over again. He must go now, certainly before a new manage is selected.

I agree, it's odd he's still here but it must surely be a matter of time. I don't see it as him being a bridge to Moyes or anyone else.
"Oh, aye, I ken ye were the Guvnor of tae bank O' England and that Jewish guy from the FA is now there an'll but, in tae words of Shania Twain, "That dissnae impress me much." I want tae only speak tae that genius Paddy. He's so cuttin' edge he's got European scouts in Australia an another at college. That's so far ahead it's avante fuckin' garde - sorry to use that word - it must be, nae other cant in the world is doin' that, eh?"
That manager list above is beyond uninspiring, it's downright fucking depressing. As it happens, I don't think Moyes is likely and have been saying that for a long time. As for the rest,

Moyes is a horrible bible bashing twat, funny there's not the usual pouring of anti-Scottish manager vitriol there usually is when a manager leaves villa, probably because of all the names linked his failure during his last position wasn't watched week in week out by most as it was in a foreign league and you have his mates over at sky, where he has been an occasional pundit since not being able to secure another club, trying to do him a favour by talking him up

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
I just hope the board doesn't try to get a manager who sells them on "trying to make it work" with the existing squad of overpaid and apathetic losers. This team needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Leave no stone unturned.
As for the manager, anyone but Pearson for me, and that includes Monk. I really don't like Pearson because he comes across as a man who just lucked his way into assembling that Leicester team.

Someone I work with whose cousin knows a couple of first team players has said that its Monk, mind you he's been telling me that since Sherwood left and Swansea wouldn't let him talk to us, this guy has been right on 4-5 transfers before the media got the news so I have to go with him.
(One of the players he knows is Bacuna)

Mitch you don't like Pearson because you think he's lucky? Well I'm not sure what you're basing this on, but it's an old thought that a lucky manager is the best manager. Knocking a bloke back because he's lucky seems rather bizarre to me mate.

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
I've heard a few things about Bacuna and even ignoring his Champions League delusion, he is still a serious contender for stupid, I'm a footballer I can do what I like, why should I care I'm getting paid anyway tosser of the year.
Since he's wrong about almost everything else, I really hope he's wrong about Gary Monk, who's credentials for the Villa job are only slightly better than mine.

If Fox was still running the show then I would say Monk would have a good chance of getting he job.
However we are starting to see the building of a strong board. I can't see them going for a light weight appointment. I'm beginning to feel more positive about those running the club (bar that yanky Wanker)
Moyes is the man they need to get. His 10 years at Everton show what stability can produce.

I think the board would like a non lightweight appointment. Can only see Monk getting the job if the likes of Moyes , Pearson either don't fancy it or get better offers.
Bernstein said something last week, about the need to get things moving quickly, the preparation for next season starts now. To me that hints at a massive clearout, and thay want that process to start pretty quickly. Maybe I'm being hopeful but does that mean the board have got their asses into gear and are already 'down the road' with the new bloke ? - I hope so.

I'd take any luck we can get at the moment, NP would certainly kick some arse, that's what the playing side need at the moment, fans will forgive anything if they can see the players giving 100%, that's where we need to start from & take it from there. Onwards & upwards . UTV

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
Moyes is unattached so no compensation, as is Monk for that matter, definitively think they will go for a manager that they don't have to pay compensation for, therefore that rules out Rowett which is a shame but as I have said previously Moyes would show intent and hopefully show the utter shower of players what they have to do to play for a club like AVFC!
