To be honest as a WB he may be ok...he is not...repeat, not...a full back.

I have felt for some time that we will go 3-5-2 next season....Richardson could be decent on the left of that 5.

Well you could argue that Vlaar did well as we stayed up with a dreadful defence really and really our form for 2nd half of the season, should have seen us go down.

I just don't see the defensive acquisitions so far (Senderos) and now possibly Richardson, doing anything to improve things

If this happens then i think we can put the talk of a takeover before the season kicks off to the back of our minds, cole and senderos were quite early, but this would send the strongest signal that nothing is going to happen

The only thing is that all of these signings have been on free transfers (apart from 2yrs worth of wages) so not sure on the possibility of (b)

Do you think Lerner is shrewd enough to force a buyers hand by saying hurry up or i'm going to leave you with more of a mess to sort out?

Regardless of whether things are close or non existent Lambert needs to plan for the season. I think we was close before and something happened so Lerner would be silly to pin his hopes on something until it's signed and sealed so therefore you plan for the worst and expect the best.
