Very. And the impression I get is we are still, despite an 'effin Revolution taking place here, largely flying under the media radar. I could be wrong as I don't watch Sky or listen to Talkshite or read the sports pages of 99% of papers etc, but that's how it seems. They'd rather write about Chelsea's doctor than our Revolution.
Now, I don't really care about that because it is par for the course re: Villa and the media. The patronising fucks are always the same and we will be the underdogs for some time yet. Let's hope we can shake them out of their London/Merseymanc centric complacency by carving some of their favourites up this term. Starting Friday.
I wish she was my Doctor

Love it when Sky Sports News are 48 hrs behind. It really amuses me. " Breaking news. Sky sources understand bla bla fecking bla." Sky.....Feck off and get in the sea !!!!!!!!!!!villabromsgrove wrote:A couple of reports say that Adama has had his medical earlier today and will sign tomorrow. I hope so.

The longer we can slide under the radar the better. It will take time for these players to gel, but if and when they do it's going to be fun being a Villa fan.ember wrote:villabromsgrove wrote:How exciting is it being a Villa fan at the moment?

Even if we get some good results initially, each team we face will still think "it's only the Villa". So let the media titter at AVFC, it could work well for us.

The only thing I'll say in SKY's favour is that they don't do the BREAKING NEWS thing until they're sure of their info. That can be frustrating, but is also reassuring when you desperately want something to be true!NARLA24 wrote:Love it when Sky Sports News are 48 hrs behind. It really amuses me. " Breaking news. Re: Adama Traore
Danny Murphy eulogising on talksport about Traore.
He said he is one of the most exciting prospects he has seen, quick, strong and is amazed Barcelona are letting him go.
He has sèen him live and says Villa fans should be excited, he is young and will improve especially under Sherwoods coaching.
Let the others look at the loss of Benteke, Delph and Vlaar and right us off.
They are ignoring the new signings and Sherwood being given time to build.
Reality was Vlaar was never able to give us a full season due to injuries and the reason we struggled with those 3 in the side may have been those 3. As they were our strongest players the style and system we played was to their strengths and not the other 8 on the pitch.
They may have been the reason why we had a losing mentality.
Things needed to change, just as they did under Lambert when he took over from McCleish. Difference was when Lambert made his changes to the squad we said "ok, your the boss, we will see what happens" and hoped he got it right. Under Sherwood it feels like "Hell yeah, I can't wait to see this squad, this is exciting!".

Great minds Narla, great minds. If I am not the most reasonable, rationale poster on here I am certainly in the top 1.

It hurts but we have to take that on the chin, older fans will appreciate we have gone through a rough patch but we are still one of the finest clubs in England but unfortunately younger fans and newer fans will only see us as being "shite" because that's the way we have acted, signing rubbish that should never grace our doors, managers with no personality and play deadbeat football and a Chairman that seemed to have lost interest, we have been lucky to stay in the Premiership these past years and now other fans just mock us, that's why I love Sherwood because he has the fire and passion to make us proud again.

I'm refusing to even watch any vids of Traore play until I see a picture of him holding up a villa shirt.
Really want it to happen though as a lot of people say some great things about him.

Let them underestimate us. A Villan knows what is best in life. To crush our enemies. See them driven before us. Hear the lamentations of their women.

Hope we get him - exciting as he sounds, 19 with very little first team experience , coming to a foreign country , I think we need to dampen our expectations of him hitting the ground running...

He's played over 60 games for Barcelona B over the past two seasons, who were in Spain's 2nd division until they were relegated last season. It's like playing two seasons in the Championship, as opposed to our Reserve League.

SKY were running a comparison feature between Adama Traore and Xherdan Shaqiri earlier. They said that Adama will sign today.
