Yeah looking like we'll have Bamford and Jedinak in this week. In the striker department if the Bamford story is true we'll then have Ayew, Gestede, McCormack and Bamford to choose from. Gestede and McCormack have both scored 20 goals in the division and Bamford got 19 goals in all competitions for Boro the last time he was in this division.

Surely that would be the most proven selection of strikers any championship side have ever had? And it's smart business because with the games coming thick and fast it will allow us to rotate things a little and keep some legs fresh. Also keeps us covered when Ayew and Gestede go off to the African Nations cup in January.

Jedinak in the middle of the park would also mean we'll have an experienced captain all down the spine of the team when you add in Elphick and Mccormack. It remains to be seen what happens before the window closes but if the signings do come off I've got a feeling we're all going to enjoy this season a lot .

I'd like it more if we straight out bought Bamford tbh. He's young, talented, English. Just sign him up.

This is the first time in ages that I can't wait till our next game .... Oh yeah and signing Bamford would be bang on !

It remains to be seen. The Jedinak quotes appear to be from right after the Palace game on Saturday when he was interviewed post match. So he was never gonna give the game away then was he? Something appears to have changed today though and loads of Journo's/palace fans believe that he's heading to VP...we'll see.

The Diawara links is from an Italian website claiming we've agreed a fee and he's agreed terms. But then there's talk that Juve might be sniffing around so again it's a case of waiting to see what transpires with that one. paying 14m for him though would be a massive statement from Xia and co.

Rumor has it Juve has made an 11th hour bid for him. Looking for him to be Pogba's replacement and Lazio is apparently his 1st choice club, but they haven't met Bologna's valuation of him yet. He is one of the top young talents in Europe and he would be a fantastic signing for a Premier League team. It would be a real signal of intent if we can somehow lure him to Villa Park and shows Tony has the funds needed to bankroll his ambitions for the club.

Jedinak should be with us this week according to staff rumours

Just got to love our Tony ain't ya haha so catching up as i have been away for a few days Jedinak is about to sign and we still might be signing Diawara and we are signing Bamford, whats happening to Chester?

Steve Round is about to become our Technical Director

The 45-year-old will be charged with overseeing the club’s recruitment and overseeing their transfer dealings.

Round was in the stands as Villa beat Rotherham 3-0 on Saturday and is set to be appointed to the new role this week.

The experienced coach was David Moyes’ assistant at Everton and followed the Scotsman to Manchester United.

It is believed that Roberto Di Matteo will still have a final say on transfers at Villa, and that the Italian has given his blessing to the appointment of Round.

Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has previously worked with Round at Everton.

Paddy Riley is the current head of recruitment, but he was heavily criticised for his involvement in the club’s woeful summer signings for the 2015-16 Premier League season which led to their relegation.

In other Aston Villa transfer news, Villa are poised to complete the signing of Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace in the next 48 hours.

That was from Narla.....he's at work so asked me to let you know. He obviously got a text to say there's an angry, beardy, Aussie at the training grounds being told to stretch this way and that.
