Not a bad list that. He was hung out to dry by Spurs and Pool IMO
That's not a bad list at all. But that's obviously the GOOD list. Who's on the BAD one?
Dunno who is on the bad list but the worst player on it would immediately be ranked as our best player if he comes, I much prefer Cortese too as suggested above.

Cheers, Dan.
My first thought looking at those names, the time-frame and the enormous amount of money spent, was that it reminded me a little of MoN. Perhaps with more players who you'd deem a success and less of the dross.
I wonder what the wage bill was like? And, to that end, the resale value of those players.
Research that for us, Dan.

The wage bill for that lot would be a small countries GDP!!!!!!Trotters wrote:Cheers, Dan.

Well, thank you Trotters, glad to be back:)
Now over to takeover.... A big YES from me when it comes too chinese takover... Somehow I think Wanda group is involved in takeover. If you go too Wanda group homepage you will see on the "news" page that they are quick do deny links to football club. (Inter Milan and AC Milan in april) However they never denied links to Villa;)

Comoli has never worked in the Championship has he? Though at Plop he did sign some decent cheap youngsters eg Jordan Ibe? Reily will love another Jordan?
Why do people assume that a Chinese consortium will involve Dalian Wanda group? They will not be interested in a failing club like us!

Wanda or no Wanda, I always felt that chinese group would buy Villa... Thy have a lot of dollars to burn, and political leadership is clear on developing football in China. They are buying clubs left and right. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Atletico, and many other smaller clubs in Europe are owned or soon to be owned by chinese investors. Now Wanda group would be "nice":) but there is many other chinese groups who are looking to invest in english football.

You forgot to add Birmingham City to the list of Chinese owners
New owners will be UK or US based...or possibly a combination of the two. There are discussions going on currently between a Chinese investor and a premier league club, but it's highly doubtful that club is Aston Villa. Look around the financial twitter feeds, quite a bit of discussion recently.
My guess is it's Everton.

Pearson has a good record at signing players at LCFC. Would he really want Comoli taking charge of that ?

A Chinese take over may not be all roses you know, their economy is very volatile at the moment and another crash is expected, although the Government is doing its best to hide this through the use of massively subsidised zombie corporations, theres also the fact that any investment above a certain number of millions outside of China has to be rubber stamped by various government agencies and departments which could make sponsorship deals, cash injections for players etc quite complicated

Agree with you. Don't want Chinese owners. Consider how many clubs they are buying into across Europe....how many are they actually throwing money at?....none from what I can see.
Far more likely to end up with a Carsen Yeung. I just can't see Lerner selling to the Chinese.

It wouldn't be Everton so soon after Moshiri bought 50% of the club IMO

Found this about Jack Ma linked to buying us owner of Alibaba Group
In just a decade and half Jack Ma, a man from modest beginnings who started out as an English teacher, founded and built Alibaba into one of the world’s largest companies, an e-commerce empire on which hundreds of millions of Chinese consumers depend. Alibaba’s $25 billion IPO in 2014 was the largest global IPO ever. A Rockefeller of his age who is courted by CEOs and Presidents around the world, Jack is an icon for China’s booming private sector and the gatekeeper to hundreds of millions of middle class consumers.

You found it on Twitter I'm guessing...a tweet from that AVFC_1874 clown....yeah?
The Alibaba group are currently in Milan apparently, discussing a $700m takeover of AC Milan. I doubt they have heard of Aston Villa.
If we do end up in Chinese hands it will be small time wannabe's....Carsen Yeung level. These major Chinese players will not be interested in a has been like Aston Villa.

I wouldn't want Chinese owners. As stated before it is extremely difficult to get money out of the country. The Chinese are not known for ploughing money into businesses that also have an economy that is due to crash, wiping billions of dollars off the stock markets. What we want is a company who want huge exposure, the PL is the most watched league in the world, so once we bounce back, it would offer the exposure that the business needs. Just imagine being sponsored by oracle, it must be a way of getting round FFP.
