Who Will be the Next Villa Manager
Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
I own half a million ants that have appeared in my garden. Will that help.DaveAV1 wrote:I've long been an advocate of myself as the next Villa manager. However I've now come to the conclusion, that even with my great managerial skills, under Randy Lerner I'd be doomed to failure. So I have realised that there is only one solution to save our great club, DaveAV1 owner manager! If all those who generously offered a tenner to help out, in my previous managerial bid, could just stretch to say half a million, then we're in business!
What do you say lads? Come on let's believe!!

If you can arrange for them to be released in the press box at the Newcastle match that would be great.

Well - - - according to Hollis and his well placed leaks in the local media...it's....
Nigel Pearson.
A man who strangles PR.
A man who attempts to strangle opposition players. On TV.
A man who is INSTRUCTED by his Employer to apologise after insulting the fans at Leicester.
A man who raised a son who thought racism was acceptable.
As I've said, before, if it is him..we won't be renewing.
We were not going to renew anyway, after the Remi-Patsy charade and yet ANOTHER BLUENOSE was appointed.
Martinez..when released by Everton....YES!
We'll both re-join at that moment ....... the flipping "offers" early bird rubbish doesn't affect us.
We will renew...if it is not Pearson nor MacKay.
Moyes...maybe
Martinez ?...we'll upgrade :)

Rather have Steve Cotterill than Martinez. Hugely overrated manager who has never been promoted and is proving to be worse than an average Moyes. When he was at Wigan the were hanging on by pure luck, been down that road thanks.
A man cannot be held responsible for the actions of his adult son.
If it's Pearson that's fine by me. He is the only sensible option for us in our current position.

I agree with this. Just because his son is racist doesn't mean he is. There may well be other stuff going on that we're not party to.
I would, however, we didn't just consider managers currently available. We've had a feeling of defeatism for too long, we need a positive outlook and that needs to extend to potential manager selection, keeping players, being able to attract excellent prospects and so on. I think we should approach Claudio Ranieri and see if Benteke wants to come back to a club that might actually win something.

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
In all fairness to Pearson, I've said some fucking moronic, highly offensive shit when drunk. The difference is I'm not a footballer and I never let it get recorded. I don't think making a drunken racist slur absolutely makes someone a racist if it is 1 instance, just makes them a mongtard.
Martinez can fuck off. Turned us down. Took Wigan from midtable to relegated, and is in the process of taking Everton to midtable. Don't know why he's rated so highly.

Yes it does. Whether sober or completely drunk, you don't say something racist without being racist.

And as we all know there is little that is more heinous in today's society than being a racist. Unless it's being a sexist. Or maybe being a homophobe.

So you've never offended your wife/girlfriend/mum/dad/mates/boss/co-worker/anyone with an ill timed comment or word? I've never met a man or woman that hasn't, and it doesn't mean you meant it or stand by it. It's mostly ignorance and immaturity. I'm more concerned with the attitude and ideology of someone who is prepared to hang a young man out to dry and potentially ruin his career because he uttered a couple of words in private in a high jinx situation. Yes, let's ruin his career and attempt to tarnish his family by association as well.
As long as you've never called anyone short Arse, stumpy, ginger twat, lanky git etc etc then you stand above us all. A bit like god.

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
I fully admit that I often make jokes which are in very poor taste. Do I think I'm racist? Notin my opinion. I think very poorly of all humans regards.
I often make fun of people in wheelchairs to my aunt who is in a wheelchair. She loves it, people who don't know us get REALLY awkward though.
Making a bad joke or a drunken comment etc doesn't make someone racist. Attacking someone based on their race does. Stopping someone from getting a job/promotion based on race does. Accusing someone of a crime without any basis based on race does(I'm looking at you America). Threatening to stop people entering your country based on race does (still looking at America).

Nope, never (ever) said anything racist. Not big on sizeism either, my ginger mate is just a twat, it just doesn't occur to me. I stand by my point, if you say something racist, that makes you a racist.

Black says Moyea will go to Celtic. For me, we would have got him of owners were coming with any ambition and wealth

Moyes doesn't have any ambition if he goes to the SPL

If you're Moyes, who has ties to Celtic, are you going to turn down the opportunity to manage a club who will be in the qualifying for the Champions League, with the return of the Old Firm derby to come and manage Villa in the Championship regardless of what money the owners might have ?

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
I'm not entirely sold on Moyes. What attracts me most to the idea is that he's a big name in football and AVFC should be getting big names. But in terms of ability I'm not sold at all.

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
If Randy's the owner next season, I'd rather have Pearson. If someone else is and wants to invest big time, we need a temporary manager to get us back into the PL, and I think I'd rather have Pearson. Moyes did a good job, slowly developing Everton into a top-10 side but that's not where we are or what we need. Maybe had we survived this season and there was money to invest in a team, he'd be a good choice. I wonder if Moyes was recommended to take the job at ManU by SAF? We know what his advice is worth.

At this point in time it has to be Pearson, he is the only one who could put up with all the current crap/players down Villa Park!

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
Moyes needs an easy job to rebuild his battered reputation having had two failures in a row?
Racism is something in all of us? Who can hand on heart say they have never judged someone on the colour of their skin before getting to know them? We live in a racist society which is currently run on racist values. For example my mate got stopped in Heathrow for 6 hours under the terrorism act. Did you know under this law you do not have the right to remain silent? Or have the right to a lawyer, you can be charged for trying to exercise these rights? They fingerprinted, palm printed even the sides of his hands and took his DNA. Nothing he could do, zero rights. He is a proper Brummie with thick accent but he has a beard and is Muslim?
Plus why label Pearson as one especially when a lot of his team were not white northern Europeans, how many complaints were made by Mahrez, Morgan or Schlupp?

So just to recap. You're not allowed to be a "phobe" or an "ist" and if you're a "phobeist" you should be shunned by modern society.

Actually mate the right to remain silent is far from absolute even outside of the Terrorism Act. If your car is used to commit a crime you have to provide the details of the owner, silence is an additional criminal act. The same goes if questioned by an officer in uniform relating to specific antisocial behaviour offences.
And anyone has the right to a brief at any time. Even someone suspected of a terrorism offence. The high Court determined that under S7 of the act back in 2013.
Just for future reference.

Not quite, it only applies if you are a First World Caucasian, heterosexual male. With added opprobrium points if you are omnivorous, working class, politically right-of-centre and an alcohol drinking smoker.

Pearson knows his level and hopefully has had plenty of time to see what players are like in the lower divisions whist hes been out of work to target as incoming players

Re: Next Villa Manager - Who WILL it be ?
Interesting thread.
My brother was held up in LA a few weeks back - he flew there from Sydney to see the Guns n Roses concert. It was massively traumatic for him. Turns out he had SSSS stamped on his boarding pass which means he's been flagged as a flight risk.
The reason : he paid for his ticket via PayPal and changed his seat. That combo was enough to label him a risk. He's white, couldn't grow a beard if he tried and is the exact opposite of everything you'd consider a terrorist to look like.
So be warned about how you pay for your flights especially of you're off to the USA! USA! USA!
Now, managers. I don't get the love for Martinez. He's a nothing manager and certainly not what we need at the moment.
Moyes just doesn't float my boat and, whilst this might make me some kind of -ist, his eyes freak me right out!
