With Cleverley and Vlaar already gone and a few more given their marching orders its going to be a new look Aston Villa come the new season which is good.
Too many players at the club just not good enough and it wouldn't surprise me to see Hutton go as well.

Theres a very weak link to Sam Bryan of leeds. Leeds player of the season and very highly rated by a leeds fan I see at work. Right Back

Not sure about Hutton, Sherwood came out with quotes about how much of a warrior he is etc lol.

He falls under the released because he has not resigned for the club. Agree he is a liability but so is Sanchez, at the moment i have more faith in Vlaar performing than Sanchez.

Guzan played well with the usa national team, I’d like him to stay
Vlarr needs to go not worth paying him potentially better terms for half a season or less.

Sadly I don't rate either. If we get decent sums to spend ,I'd like to see Sanchez shipped out too. EPL just seems to fast paced for him.

I think Richards would be a massive boost to our defence IMO

With you Villa Dan Richards would be a real boost, strong experienced and can put in a decent tackle.

If Richards could play a full season with only occasional minor injuries he'd be a real asset.

I actually think we have the basis of a mid table squad. We are a bit short of CB' esp those who can stay fit for any length of time. Hutton and Cissokho are decent enough full backs - and Guzan a decent enough Keeper.
Granted if we have serious money - then perhaps none of those are good enough for top six.
I know he he hasn't signed anyone yet - But I really fear for us with some of the names mentioned. Vardy, Townsend, etc

Have to say i am becoming concerned with the players linked with our club, and Tim Sherwood. The latest this morning is Tom Huddlestone at £5.5m. It seems that if you aren't British, either at Spurs or ex Spurs, then you aren't being looked at. Huddlestone has made no headlines at Hull at all, apart from growing an Afro that he said he wouldn't cut until he scored. Says it all. Again, only press speculation thus far but the absence of links to anywhere else is.........well, boring!

Why would you be concerned at something in the paper? That's as mad as getting excited by a link to player you love!!
Don't worry about it mate. Do you genuinely think we will spend £5.5m on a relegated players with one year left on his contract?
edit: Should of said...in my opinion, Huddlestone would be a massive upgrade on our current midfield anyway. Much better than Westwood and Sanchez. Terrific range of passing and a player that could actually strike a dead ball....so it would be a yes from me if he does come...but fee nearer to £3m I reckon!

Ok they weren't relegated at the time. But they'd won 1 game all season at that point.
My point - don't judge a player on the team he's coming from

Good point, and that is my point regarding Huddlestone. He is 28 years old and has achieved very little of note. How many assists or goals does he have to his name over the last two seasons? Added that he is not exactly, well, box to box energy type player.......what does he bring to the modern day football that is high energy and mobile?

Don't want Huddlestone at all.

I'm not judging him based on the fact Hull have been relegated...If you look it was only in terms of the fee and amount of contract remaining.
I think Huddlestone would improve our midfield. He is better than both Westwood and Sanchez in terms of distribution, he can also shoot and will provide a real free kick threat for once!
