Anyone heard anything more about the proposed takeover?

I was told yesterday that it's doubtful that new owners will be in charge for the start of next season. Certainly nothing in the rumours that the deal will be completed around the time of the FA Cup Final anyway.

i think if we keep it as it is we can do well next season

hopeful thinking but we havent got a bad squad as it is and if we could add cleverley and milner for free than that would be great business!

Personally, if they're not in place way before the start of next season, with time to plan, I'd rather they didn't bother coming at all. It will only encourage Lerner to spend nothing and be disconcerting fro the squad and staff.

i read also that if its true, the deal has been ongoing since last march, does this mean then that some of the ITK's on here/were on here were right all along???

For anybody who doesn't know Gilan Holding own football team Gabala FK. A team once managed by Tony Adams. Sorry if all this has already been mentioned it's just something I heard made me think this could be the real deal.

If negotiation HAVE been going on for some time, then I suspect it's solely down to Lerner adding conditions to the deal:
- must buy my house.
- must guarantee x amount of spending.
- must guarantee a North Stand rebuild.

There's a level of commitment he might be able to get out of new owners just as Doug did with him....then there's being a dick.

I don't know why (I have nothing to base it on other than the original sale documents stated that part of the package included Randy's personal home) but I have a suspicion the hold up is over terms and conditions rather than ££'s and other due diligence issues.

With respect Suits this doesn't make sense. If it were correct it would mean that a buyer would not be able to invest in Villa's squad during this summer's transfer window. Why would they want to risk relegation in their first season at Villa?

Randy is not going to spend money on players in July knowing that he won't own the club two months later. What about a massive offer for Benteke? Who pockets the cash? Far too many problems will be created by signing a takeover deal in September. It would take a couple of breathtaking idiots to arrange this timetable!

If we survive this season as now looks likely, we will breathe a massive sigh of relief and then we have to immediately get on with the job of making sure that the relegation battles of the last few seasons cannot happen again.
