Re: Jores Okore
I think I read he picked us over Chelsea so he would get first team football. I think he has potential to be a great player and hope it will be with us and not another team. Could be another Cahill if not carefull.

Unlike Delph and Grealish, I'm not all that confident that Vlaar will stay, so it may be that next season is a big one for him.

Re: Jores Okore
Even not at 100% match fit I would still play him ahead of Clarke every day of the week. Until Vlaar is nearing fitness I think playing him against these top teams would benefit him more and would be a good pairing with his pace alongside Senderos.

Surely he has to start against Everton with both Vlaar and Senderos out with injuries. Defence is very much weakened without those two.

Re: Jores Okore
Clark and Baker, aka the chuckle brothers, will probably start and we will probably ship 2 or 3 as a result. With both Vlaar and Senderos out might he consider playing all 3 at the back?

Only Lambert and Keano will know what the hell is going on. No Okore, no points.

Re: Jores Okore
If Clark plays, we lose by 2 or 3 goals (at least). We have to start Okore and stick him on Lukaku

If Clark starts, I don't think I have it in me to watch. He's an abortion during a train wreck. And he runs like a disabled fairy chasing a bubble in the wind.

Okore has had enough time I think, now he needs to be involved.

No idea mate. Okore and Grealish not on the bench is baffling to me.

Re: Jores Okore
Okore is fit enough to play for Denmark, so unless he picked up a knock in training he should have been in the squad.kimbo wrote:No idea mate. Okore and Grealish not on the bench is baffling to me.
Lambert was quite dismissive of Grealish's current status, when he said that he needed to knuckle done and do the hard work. Maybe his recent appearances were to get him to sign a contract extension. Now he's signed they don't have to keep him happy.

Re: Jores Okore
Lambert says he needs more match time under his belt "for his knee" but Okore has played 180mins for the Villa and Danish U21s in the last 2 weeks and won both games whereas he was happy to throw Benteke straight back in after just an hour with the U21s!!
Okore will be a massive lift for us at the back and is vastly better than Clarke or Baker

Re: Jores Okore
I like Baker (apart from the fact that he's made of glass), but I agree with you about the impact that a fully fit Okore would have. Never thought I'd say this but we need Senderos back asap as well.Villa_Dan wrote:Lambert says he needs more match time under his belt "for his knee" but Okore has played 180mins for the Villa and Danish U21s in the last 2 weeks and won both games whereas he was happy to throw Benteke straight back in after just an hour with the U21s!!

Re: Jores Okore
I like Baker, always have liked him more than Clarke. Clarke thinks he's a cultured defender, Baker knows he's an old fashioned "if in doubt, put it out" centre half.
But Okore is a different beast - strong, fast, and good. If he's fit enough to play 2 full matches in 2 weeks then he's fit enough for our bench. Senderos needs to start next Monday

He's reserve team fit, but not first team fit. He should have played against Everton, he would have covered more ground than some of our players!
