Looking forward to seeing Okore next season, think we will see a better Vlarr also with Okore next to him. He has been carrying both Clarke and Baker for to long.

Okore will be like a new signing next season looking forward to see what he can do although i think it will take him a while to adjust coming bak from a bad injury into a league you have only played once or twice in. I just hope he comes good.

Jores Okore says he's determined to repay manager Paul Lambert for the faith he showed in buying him.

Okore had a season to forget in claret and blue, missing the majority of the term with a serious knee injury.

It's been a long rehabilitation for the Danish giant but there was light at the end of the tunnel as he returned to full training with the squad in the final few weeks of the campaign.

He wasn't risked in the run-in but he's now relishing the chance to show his qualities when the new campaign kicks off at Stoke City on Saturday August 16.

Okore says he owes a big debt to Lambert, who brought him to the Barclays Premier League.

He said: "It's about next season for me. That's my focus. I am looking forward to that. I can't wait. It can't come quick enough.

"It will be the coming season when I get my big chance again to prove myself. I want to show what I can do.

"The manager has been very supportive with me. He bought me - he showed great faith in me and now I want to repay him.

"He bought for me a reason - he must have believed in my ability. I will prove he was right!

"It's about getting up to speed, getting a good pre-season under my belt and then hopefully playing games.

"I am so determined to play well and impress and prove my ability to everyone - the players, the manager and the fans.

"I think this coming season will be the one that counts for me.

"I just want to be able to turn around to the manager and say 'you were right to buy me.' I want to repay his big faith.

"I want to develop here and be the best player I can be. I want to make a difference."

Yea, he seems like a solid figure... Im more interested in seeing him come out of the back with the ball at his feet... Hopefully he can help form a solid & complimentary partnership with Vlaar & take some of the pressure off Baker, who I actually rate & think could become a decent defender if being stuck in & relied upon without any integration into the first team hasnt destroyed him already...

Got high hopes for Okore, was delighted when we signed him and gutted when he got injured.

He'll be a beast for us IMO

He will mate, just the same as a brand new signing, but he knows the club inside out, a great advantage for us.

When i saw him he looked clumsy on the ball and then scored an own goal (reminded me of the mighty Titarse Bramble). I still need to be convinced about him.

Gotta disagree, when he came on against Chelsea and in the Liverpool and Newcastle games I thought he looked VERY good

official site wrote:

Jores Okore wore a huge smile when he was asked about Ron Vlaar's performances in the World Cup.

The giant centre-half - a good friend of the Netherlands ace - swiftly said: "I would just like to say a big congratulations to him."

Okore spoke of his admiration for Vlaar - who played every minute of every game for the Dutch as they made it to the semi-finals in Brazil.

But Okore insisted that the performances of the skipper came as no real shock to him, having seen him perform admirably in claret and blue on many occasions.

He said: "I was proud of him. I was not surprised he played that good though!

"But I am really glad for him. I hope he can bring us some of that back to us and help us perform like he did throughout the summer.

"But I am really happy for him playing that well.

"I know he will come back with plenty of confidence and belief. I know he can carry it on.

"He will come back with a lot of confidence. I think that will rub off on the whole squad.

"He was superb. When you have a lot of confidence and play with your heart, anything is possible. Ron really showed his true potential at the World Cup.

"But this past season he played really well for us at Villa and it continued into the World Cup. I am looking forward to him coming back - and playing with him will be amazing.

"I was really happy that Ron got that far - to the semi-finals of the World Cup. I had hoped he would get to the final but he was unlucky.

"Through the whole tournament, he showed what he can do.

"Ron will have a great summer - I hope he relaxes - and then come back and perform the same way he did in the World Cup. I am looking forward to him being back."

Lack of match fitness potentially mixed with feeling unwell possibly? He could've been a less-effected victim of the virus?

I think they being especially careful with Okore 'cause he's got the dual difficulty of coming back from long-term injury and settling in to a new league in a different country. The fact he's made the bench shows he is not too far away.

seeing how Sanchez was at the weekend shows the risk of playing someone who is not up to speed with the Premier League, and it's an even bigger risk for a CB.

He's been out for a year, still needs to adapt to the Prem & he's actually a couple of years younger than Baker, who himself is younger than Clark. Plus as has been mentioned, he may have been one of the people affected by the bug. I'm not too concerned at the minute and I think he can be a star for us for years to come.
