Re: Jores Okore
The reason starts with Pau and ends in ambert.
He was really good, wasn't he? Very impressive. Seems to have it all...positioning, good in the air, strong in the tackle, fast as fuck.
Still, that'll probably be the last we ever see of him. And that's a shame.

Hopefully we'll see him a lot more and Lambert a lot lot less soon.

Re: Jores Okore
Okore was brilliant tonight and I know this is a thread about him but it seems to be every player Lambert tries to force out is actually deserving of a place in the team!
I would also like to say that Clark had an absolute stormer tonight and showed exactly why there was promise in him years ago.

Okore and Guzan, difficult to pick between them for MOTM. Very impressed with Jores tonight, he really showed Lambert that he was a dick head for not picking him, hell he even made Clark look good and that's hard, if Lambert drops him after this brilliant performance then I don't blame him if he fucks off in January (I'm hoping Lambert is gone before that damage happens, same with Tekkerz too).

Re: Jores Okore
While Vlaar is different because of his age and how many opportunities he has left, but away from him the only chance we have of holding on to the likes of Okore, Benteke, Grealish - maybe even Delph - in my opinion, is a new manager. But, y'know; a good one!

True. True.
And whilst there are those that still believe Lambert to be the man, the players have made it clear that he's not.
How much would it cost to pay Lambert off and replace him? Then ask how much it will cost to replace Vlaar, Benteke, Delph, Okore, etc.

Does anyone have any inside info on the rumour that he only gets a 12 month pay out??
Surely if that's the case he should of gone already??

Re: Jores Okore
I'd like to think an emergency meeting was held between Randy and Tom Fox with a discussion around Lambert's future. No doubt Randy backed his man as he has time and time and time again having faith in him that just isn't warranted. But if he has relented, I doubt he'd agree to fire him on the spot but would extend one last chance.
If I put my Randy hat on (oo-er!) I'd look at the next half dozen matches and set a minimum points target. Once it gets to the stage where it can't be met, it's hasta lasagna.
And I think there's something to be read in Lambert's comments prior to the Southampton game, his demeanor during it and his statements after.
I think the fuse on this bomb has been lit.

Re: Jores Okore
Okore has been saying for some time that he was fit to play, Lambert has continually said that he wasn't fit enough. Last night showed that Okore was right. He had more energy and covered more ground than most of our players.

I'd love for this to be the case. I can't take much more of this clueless muppet.

Re: Jores Okore
It's more than a little worrying that Okore has again talked to the Danish press (since his excellent performance Monday night) and said that he is still considering his future in January. Apparently he is unhappy that Lambert ignored him for weeks when Jores thought that he was fully fit and ready to play. He also indicates that he thinks the other CB's will come straight back in when they're fit and that will leave him back out in the cold.
What is wrong with Paul Lambert?

Re: Jores Okore
It's normal for Lambert has no idea of management.
And it's a bit to late to send him on a course, he has treated a lot of players badly. Look at the youngsters.
The bomb squad another mess, and people wonder why he has lost the dressing room, need more with what is wrong with Lambert.
And he has only one game plan.

Re: Jores Okore
To be fair it was brilliant to get Okore in the first place but it astonishes me to then see Lambert treat him like this!
It beggars the question if Lambert had anything to do with signing him in the first place and just wants to make a point now. However Okore is the future of the club and if fit should be starting every game, if ever he goes I would do my bloody nut!
Lambert is again highlighting how his man management skills are absolutely non-existent!

Re: Jores Okore
One would hope that it is his shirt to lose now?
Any manager worth his salt will know that the best way to motivate players is to keep them in the team when they are playing well. To drop them when doing so would ruin team morale and I sincerely hope this doesn't happen since the back four as a unit played so well against Southampton.

Re: Jores Okore
Fortunately I don't think Lambert could drop him for a few weeks even if he wanted to. Okore is rightly worried that in a few matches he'll be replaced with fit again more senior centre backs. That tells us that he doesn't trust Lambert's judgement.Morpheus wrote:One would hope that it is his shirt to lose now?

Re: Jores Okore
As Morpheus has said, it's his top to lose now. That's the way football management should work. If he drops him immediately and brings back Vlaar, SenderBoss or Baker, it creates not only a problem with Okore but also says to the other centre backs that their place in the team is secure regardless of performance.
If I was Lambert, I'd leave Okore in the starting eleven. However, this philosophy creates a problem in that I'd have to apply the same standards to Clark who also had an excellent game....and I just don't fully trust him not to fuck up.
What Lambert will do is replace Okore instantly and say that he only got a run by default and that doesn't count.

Two games, two good performance, 4 points.
But, as the manager has said, he's not fit and not ready. :wanker:

Get Sendo fit and play him with Okore. Tell Vlaar if he doesn't want to sign a contract he can sit on the bench

Jores Okore "really happy" to be back in Aston Villa side
By Sian Cowper, Reporter
Jores Okore has admitted that he is "really happy" to be seeing regular action with Aston Villa after a spell out with injury last season.
The defender missed the majority of the 2013-14 campaign with a knee ligament injury, allowing others to establish themselves ahead of him in the pecking order at Villa Park, but injuries to his teammates this season have let him reclaim a place in the side.
The 22-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "I'm really happy at the moment to be back on the teamsheet. Just to be playing again is really nice.
"It was very hard last season especially coming to a new country and a new place. You really want to come in and make a difference but I wasn't able to do that.
"Now I'm getting there. I'm taking it step by step. I feel more comfortable here now than last year. It has been a long transition because I haven't been a part of the team."
Okore is expected to make his fourth straight start when the team face Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
