I reckon someone's had a laugh with him and told him "sugarbag" is the new word for "gaffer".
[runs up to the new boss]..."Morning sugarbag!"

Re: Libor Kozak
Is it just me or is this club a bit weird? look at the team of castouts we have had during the last few years..
Given
Dunne
Warnock
Senderos
Hutton
Nzogbia
Helenius
Reo Coker
Sidwell
Bent
Kozak
All these have been kind of put in the "Won't play you" pile at some point or other & i'm sure there's more. It just seems a little odd!
I know some had an apparent disrutptive effect but surely with better management that could've been handled differently? .. eh what do I know?!

Re: Libor Kozak
On the face of it he is a similar player to Gestede - so why would you have 2 in the squad ?
Hopefully when Remi has been here a while longer he will realise that Kozak is nothing like Gestede - I always think of Kozak as a 6ft.4 Darren Bent - he has a knack of getting goals - even when the team isn't playing well.

Something’s not write about the whole Kozak saga, I can only assume we will pay him or his ex club more money on appearances he makes for the club.

That fee must be extraordinary. As in, enough to put a huge dent in our transfer budget for the next window.
I can't see that being the reason although with the the short sightedness of the club it wouldn't shock me either.

Kozak certainly is a strange one, perhaps he has personal problems because he certainly has the ability to be at least on the bench?

Me too. I sense another Peter Crouch long drink of water goal-poacher is given a chance.

What do we have to lose, we can lose with him or lose without him. Is Hobson's choice. I say give the bloke a chance, he has always been ok when I have seen him play, which to be honest is not a lot. UTV

He played and didn't score against Fleetwood the other day so I don't think he has a chance of playing at the moment!

Libor Kozak: Remi Garde explains the situation with the out of favour striker as Aston Villa head to Southampton
2:30, 3 Dec 2015
Updated 10:34, 4 Dec 2015
By Mat Kendrick
Kozak, who has not made a top flight appearance since breaking his leg almost two year ago, will not be in the squad to face Southampton this weekend
Libor Kozak’s wait for Premier League action rumbles on with boss Remi Garde insisting the striker is no better than Aston Villa’s current forward line.
Kozak, who has not made a top flight appearance since breaking his leg almost two year ago, will not be in the squad to face Southampton this weekend.
He had a brief run out as a substitute in Villa’s 5-3 Capital One Cup win in August, but has been overlooked by Garde aand Tim Sherwood before him.
The Czech international scored in the under-21s draw against Blackburn at Villa Park on Monday evening - but must to more to impress Garde.
“You know my job is to pick what I think the best players are,” explained Garde, who is trying to boost a team averaging less than a goal a game in the Premier League this season.
“This is the way it is with Libor.
“I have the feeling for many reasons that he could not do better than we are doing at the moment. This is my feeling.
“I am not saying anything bad about Libor. He’s not the only one not to be included in the squad. I saw him playing with the reserves and then I decided.”
Asked what Kozak needs to improve Garde replied: “I can’t tell you details but he needs to be better. He won’t be involved this weekend, no.”

Re: Libor Kozak
Agbonlahor was on the bench today. Kozak must be absolute toss in training to be behind him.

Re: Libor Kozak
Regardless of opinions on Kozak, fair play to Garde for being honest. He rates other players higher and said as much. Kozak now has to prove him wrong or fail

I heard he posted a picture of himself in his old Lazio top on twitter. If true, I don't imagine that would have gone down well.

Re: Libor Kozak
Given the managers comments about him having to do better, then clearly there's something missing other than goals.
I used to bag the shit out of Darren Bent for doing absolutely fuck all during games - most of the time it was like having ten men on the pitch and we just can't afford that at the moment.
But, we can't afford to continuing on the path we currently find ourselves on either so for the life of me I cannot understand why he's not been given a go.
To put Agbonlahor on the bench is madness. Surely Kozak cannot be worse? Just what the fuck is going on??

Maybe someone should tweet Jonny Gould and get him to ask Sherwood. The man is such a media whore gobshite, he'll spill the beans.

Re: Libor Kozak
Guzan
Hutton - Richards* - Okore* - Bacuna*
Sanchez
Traore - Veretout - Gueye - Ayew
Kozak
*choose from (depending who is fit, and if Okore can play on the left) Richards, Okore, Bacuna, Illori (who looked good in the U21s tonight) and Kinsella.
Traore looked good on the right today, plus he has bistering pace, have him hanging around at the half way line when we're defending and get him spearheading counter attacks. Sinclair plays on the left, and at Saints he looked good but was seldom given the ball. Traore would be much more effective, plus he gets in good crosses for a striker like Kozak (one of Kozak's goals today came from a cross from Traore - I think the other came from Kinsella).
Kozak looked good and sharp today. Gabby has started 42 league matches since the start of last season and scored six goals, so one in every seven matches. He's not scored since (I think) March but has started ten matches this season, two of which were in the cup. Kozak has played in four U21 matches this season and scored four goals and was the only striker to score in the 2015 pre-season friendlies (three times).
For me Ayew takes the left sided spot from Sinclair and Grealish, he's getting better and better with every match. I can, however see Garde not giving Kozak a chance and playing Grealish on the left and Gil on the right, with Ayew as striker. Ayew can still score from either wing and can defend, while Gil is wasted out wide and Grealish I'm not sure offers the threat Ayew does, and can't defend.

Hutton Richards Okore Bacuna
Adama Sanchez Veretout Grealish
Ayew Kozak
Hutton Richards Okore Bacuna
Adama Sanchez Veretout Grealish
Ayew Kozak
Ayew is a finisher and would benefit from playing with a guy to win the aerial battles and a cleverness of Veretout and Grealish to play the clever ball.
Kozak is a target man, hold it up and a finisher who will run the channels just as well as anyone but will be a presence in the box and profit from the width of Adama and Grealish.
It's Arsenal next and nobody expects us to get anything. Let's get at them!

Birmingham Mail saying he worked really hard and so did more than just score last night. Is his lack of games for non-footballing reasons?
