Christian Benteke

Liverpool are indeed the Bully club of the premier League but don't appear to realise that clubs simply are not scared of them any more. You can see exactly why one of their own players is demanding to leave citing bully boy tactics as a reason. The levels they sink to are incredible. I still remember their pursuit of Barry when we were in with a shout of a top 4 finish and then suddenly the media was awash with stuff to unsettle our Captain saying he was off and wanted to leave etc. almost like they deliberately wanted to stop us getting top 4 as it would prevent them getting Barry and it did indeed seem to unsettle us if i remember correctly resulting in us making a mess of it and missing out. Scum bag of a club

I can't think of a club with less class then Liverpool. Everything from the Barry saga to trying to unsettle Tekkers before the FA-cup final. Always leaks, and always talking about other clubs and players. But the funny thing here is that I knew they would start their pursuit of Tekkers with trying to unsettle him. That didn't work. In fact they were told he wanted to move to bigger club with CL footy. Then they tried to make him turn on us by making Volvo offers for a Maserati. Then they pull all their media buddies in the hunt for him and make them talk about it all day long. Now they are panicking as we don't budge and their next plot would be to insert the idea they are looking at other options. Then we wait a bit more and they finally cave and offer 33 million or whatever it is.

The new rumour doing the rounds today is that AS Roma have baulked at Edin Dzeko's wage demands are thinking of switching their attention to Benteke.

Of course this could just be a ruse by Roma to get Dzeko to lower his expectations but if there's something in it, and if he's hell bent on leaving, I would much prefer him to go to Serie A than see him lining up against us next season.

He won't go to Italy. Before we signed him Juve (I think) chased him and were told he has no interest in that league at all

I for one am relieved that he finally seems to be going - we can now get on with the rest of pre-season and best of all we now have the funds to buy at least two more quality players. We may have lost the beast, but we are going to be a different animal this year.

I'd love to keep CB... but if this latest rumor is actually true I'M RELIEVED.

We can bring in two quality ST to compete with Kozak for playing time. The question is: do we continue with the 'crossing/target man' style offense- or do we go for a more all around quality STs?

Personally, I think we should go away from another target man. With quality crosses, I think Kozak can step up and be the target man when one is needed.

As for Benteke going I still cannot imagine why he would want to go to Liverpool. It's not a sideways move. It's a move down. From Liverpool you're going nowhere, whereas at least if you stay at Villa you will stay in the side and could impress a Champions League team.

I know Liverpool have become a feeder club for the Champions League teams the last two seasons but if Benteke keeps them in 6th spot they are not going to part with him.

I share the sentiment of disappoint at Benteke going to liverpool, I hate it when we sell anyone to the bin-dippers! I'm not massively keen on United but at least they're in the Top 4 with a track record for winning things in the recent past so I'm praying they come in with a bid.

Gonna be a strange feel to the team next season with so many regulars of the last 3 years moving on.
