Benteke
Ironic really, Benteke was not happy to be at Villa he wanted to go to a BIGGER club to advance (we all know what that cost us) now after a season of no action and lost chances he is off to Palace, what a waste. I can foresee in the future when we move back into the Prem and upwards he looks at us and regrets that move, over the years when players make waves to move because they want to "better" themselves I have always thought if you had stayed and moved Villa on, you would have achieved everything you wanted, not leaving us to keep starting again.

Re: Benteke
He already regrets it, they all have ego's and their player ego's mean they love playing and hearing their names shouted and sang.
He's gone from being a superstar and probably the best young striker in Europe to being virtually nothing and having the embarrassment of trying to start over at a tin pot club, yep, I'll say he regrets moving massively.

Re: Benteke
The biggest problem IMO is the agents, in the past you dealt directly with the player himself, nowadays you deal through a bloodsucking leech, whose only aim in life is money, they don't give a damn about anything else, trouble is even when it all goes wrong theres another golden goose round the corner.

Re: Benteke
Let's be fair, Benteke was never going to stay. Regardless of him looking back on his move to Pool and regretting it he won't regret leaving us - he'd been our top scorer for 3 consecutive seasons (despite missing periods due to injury) and saw us finishing 15th, 15th, 17th with no takeover on the horizon to give the impression of things improving.
We might very well pass Palace (I'd like to think it is more than plausible) but Benteke won't be regretting leaving at all. Afterall, he's going to likely be Palace's highest paid player on £100K a week and playing in the Premier League. He'll score goals at Palace and rebuild his reputation then move to someone like Everton IMO

You're right, he won't regret leaving the sinking ship that we were and I don't blame him for leaving. And whilst agents are the bane of club's existence, if I was his agent I'd have told him to leave too. Villa had zero future under Lerner and he couldn't have fortold Xia coming in.
Palace have a brilliant striker as we all know so I'm sure that'll go some way to easing the hurt over Jedi.

If he doesn't regret it now, he will do when Dr Xia's 5 year plan comes to fruition.

Re: Benteke
In 5 years we'll be looking back and saying..."Do you remember when Benteke was our best player. Can't believe we've now got the likes of Messi and Pogba playing for us", as little kids the world over beg their parents to buy them an AVFC shirt so they can pretend to be a player for the greatest team in the history of the game, current European Champions League holders, FA Cup winners, Premier League title holders, and international club with franchises in China, Italy, the US, and France. Then he'll regret it but, and it's a big butt, if he hadn't left we may not have been relegated and we may not have been bought by Dr X so I'm actually glad he left us when he did. meant we only had to suffer one more awful season.

Living proof that the grass ain't always greener, if he starts well they'll sell him in January if not we get him on the cheap next summer.

I thought there's no way that's legit. But it is! He's blamed the person who runs his twitter account.
He's another Lescott. He'd best score a hattrick on his debut!
