I watched Benteke's cameo performance when he came on for Belgium against Wales. He did everything but score and showed enough to convince all the managers watching (including Wenger) that he's a beast of a striker, and a must have addition to any Premiership team with Champions League aspirations.

I wouldn't blame him but with Giroud back (who is underrated IMO) and after spending £16m on Wellbeck it would surprise me

Any other season and I'd agree with you. This season the fans are really on Wenger's back and if he doesn't do something they'll possibly miss out on Champions League qualification.

They need defenders and a DM with a big presence, I'm sure Benteke would be a hit there but he wouldn't solve any of their problems. Plus he'd be playing 2nd fiddle to Giroud, with Wellbeck already pushed further outwide then he wants to be to accommodate him.

What if a club offered 20 million pounds plus? Do you think Lerner would say no. If offers come in for Vlaar and Delph in January it's likely they'll go because of their contract situation, but Benteke's different, he may well be a pound magnet and that could attract the kind of offer that Randy would grab and pocket. If Randy can get 30/35 million for three players this January (plus three of our bigger earners off the payroll), it has to be a huge temptation to an owner who want's to sell anyway.

If the money was to be reinvested in the team, that could also be a potential carrot for a new manager. Just look at Koeman and Southampton. Not sure January is the time to do that though.

Can't see him going to Chelsea after the way Lukaku was shipped out. Them being compatriots and all that.

Liverpool though, they are in real need of a striker who can score goals

Any money from Benteke will go into money bags pocket, he is stripping this club trying to crawl back as much money as he can, look at the TV money.
Plus any other players that may be sold, the money only go's to one person.he should have dropping the price,fed up with all the smoke and mirrors going on.Lamberts tactics shit.

I think we are all agreed, 'its only a matter of time'.

Can't see Arsenal, they desperately need a defender that can actually defend and is quick (i.e Okore). If he went to Chelsea, the rest could pack up now (if they haven't already) but Mourinho is too pigheaded.

Tekkers will not want to leave in the summer because he will be excited about playing of the new manager and his world class signings and then the new owner will reward him with a new improved 5 year deal.

Just had an overly positive moment and dream that the clowns currently running the club and the team would ride off into the history books soon to be forgotten in a wave of good deeds by the new owners. Then I realised that Lerner is a greedy bar steward who thinks there is a mug out there that will pay a fortune for a poorly maintained club? And so long as Lerner is here the High Preist of Anti-football is going to be peddling his drivell in front of us each week whilst incoherently mumbling rubbish? We're probably doomed!!

Villa wanted 30m before he signed a new contract, now he signed we would only sell for silly money like 40m-50m in January as it would be impossible to get a replacement, a move in the summer is more likely

As always Villa sell there best players.
As in the past selling the likes of Young, Barry, Milner etc. It is well known that we are a feeder club, get someone worth holding on to, then selling them "getting a good deal"
This must stop, to have a chance of competing  in the league. It appears that we cannot say no to any club with enough cash to splash.
