Re a football man to the board if a takeover goes ahead or not is a must. I'd love Houllier In that capacity or Frank Arnesen as mentioned by VB a while back. Who would everyone else like?

Why would anyone want Ron back? for a start his era is long gone and secondly i'm sure Tekkers, Delph, Zoggy, Okore etc might have a few reservations considering Ron's past where race is concerned...this club is better than that.

Interesting summation but maybe Brendon Batson, Dalian Atkinson, Laurie Cunningham, Remi Moses and Cyrille Regis amongst others might disagree with you.

Ron Atkinson shouldn't have said what he did on or off air but it was said in complete frustration due to the lack of effort from one player in Chelsea's Champions League game against Monaco. How many times have we referred to a player in derogatory terms for lack of effort. We may not have used a racist comment but we have nonetheless ridiculed the player in complete frustration.

I just wish people would remember that up until that comment and he did the right thing in resigning that Ron Atkinson did more for racial equality in football than any anti-racist by being one of the first managers in football to give black players a chance.

Laurie Cunningham? I doubt that he has much of an opinion on Ron Atkinson or anyone else. If you want a football man on the board, then Brian Little would be my suggestion. Not Houllier, please not Houllier I can't stand the thought of him coming back. This is the man who said. George Boateng was a good actor when Stevie Me tried to break his leg, who was so busy sucking up to Liverpool when we went there he forgot he was Villa manager.
Didn't want him, glad he left, don't want him back.
Hope I've made my opinion clear, not too many grey areas there.
Now, any takeover news? Or should I come back in a couple of weeks or so?

It's easy to "give black players a chance" when your job is on the line!!...it's not as if he was marching with Martin Luther king or something Laughing

. Also i'm sure Dwight Yorke would also agree with me too when you hear the stuff Ron used to call him BEFORE the whole "off mic" issue.
