If we win on Sunday then we have 7 points from 9 possible. That'd be a decent start to the season. Take out the cup result, and it's a significant improvement on the shambles at the end of last season.

But we still need to improve performances - that's the long-term problem. We need to stop going into games at home planning to counter-attack (except perhaps against the bigger teams) and we need to work out a plan of how we're going to get goals. Right now it seems like Lambert expects to put players on the pitch and things will happen.

Fingers crossed we get taken over before January, see how Lambert has done in the league and whether performances have improved. If not, that'll be the time to change it.

I agree with MOM about the possibility of Keane being behind the Cleverly bid. Seems that The Sullen Bruvvers are bedded in if the purse-holder is willing to back them for that amount for a player that is hardly highly regarded (enough to raise the asset-value of the club).

Lots of fans still say, let's see what Lambert can do with a bit of cash (ignoring the fact he's already had 43m but that's another matter) so maybe that is what lerner is doing. Giving him the cash he says he needs to get quality in to see us clear of relegation....or maybe he's agreed a deal and that was based on freeing up x amount of cash to ensure we have enough quality to avoid relegation....

Either way, I think Lambert will be gone by Christmas at the latest.

After having this bid accepted I'm more baffled than ever regards to where we are with the takeover. Not renewing Vlaar Delph etc pointed towards no deal. Signing Sanchez and Cissokho pointed towards something happening the same with Fox. Then we have a very disinterested Lambert last night followed up by an £8m bid for Cleverley which is not really the best place to spend that amount of money if it's all we've got! This season is going to be a roller coaster for sure I just hope the ups out number the downs. Hopefully next week with Fox starting we might get some more info.

I honestly never have an interest in debating with people who think Lambert has had no money. If people genuinely look at that as an argument, I will never be able to have a sensible conversation with them.
