Can the Villa turn Stoke over?
Re: Stoke v Villa - all in one match thread

When you put it like that...
Still undecided to weather Grealish would be suited as a winger or no 10 role behind the striker? I can see Bojan giving us some grief the weekend!

I'd probably go with your side but grealish rather than Gardner.

I like it! Was the one position I was 50/50 on. We need sanchez for some big tackles!

The heart says "Villa win", the brain says "you'd be better off not watching". That's the beauty of living in the US, I get to suffer every excruciating minute of every Villa game in glorious Hi-Def.
I'm gonna go with a 0-2 Villa win (please).

What I'd like us to play:
Guzan
Hutton - Vlaar - Senderos - Bennett
Gardner - Westwood
N'Zogbia - Delph - Grealish
Bent
What Lambert will play:
Guzan
Hutton - Vlaar - Senderos - Cissokho
Delph - Westwood
N'Zogbia - Weimann - Richardson
Agbonlahor
Guzan
Hutton - Vlaar - Senderos - Bennett
Gardner - Westwood
N'Zogbia - Delph - Grealish
Bent
What Lambert will play:
Guzan
Hutton - Vlaar - Senderos - Cissokho
Delph - Westwood
N'Zogbia - Weimann - Richardson
Agbonlahor

Can only see a Stoke win and a fairly convincing one really
Lambert will be under pressure straight away. Our September run in is horrible
He needs to show a change in style. No more anti football.

Not sure why people would rather see Senderos over Okore! Is there something im missing?

Okore has looked a bit off this pre season, I think do start Dross as well and Grealsih LM

Given performances from seasons previously, Okore was a no brainer. But I have to say that in pre-season, Sendeross has looked very decent. Okore, not so much.

I'd prefer to start Okore in these next three matches so he has some match fitness for the dreaded September run of games as i think when he plays well he is a much better player than Senderos.

I think the pressure of not losing will sway it for them three. Thow in Hutton and Cissoko and we look quite compact. However, we dont have the midfield to protect them, so it willbe tight.
I reckon Lambert will go like this:-
Guzan
Hutton Okore Vlaar Senderos Cissoko
Westwood Delph Richardson
Bent Gabby

Re: Stoke v Villa - all in one match thread
I've a good feeling about this game, just read that Anthony Taylor is the Ref, he was the Ref for last season opener when we beat Arsenal 3-1 and also the Ref when we beat Norwich 4-1 at home, on the downside he also was Ref when we lost 2-0 to Everton and is Yellow card happy, so should Baker start then it could see us down to 10 men by half time. Prediction 1-1

I cant see anything other than a Stoke win, 3-1 ( Rodders always scores against us ) !
Lamberk will be under intense pressure right away, how he has kept his job, God only knows ?

Villa win for me. Getting the nerves now. Cmon you Villa boys. 2,900 Villa going to Stoke. They will swing it for us, brilliant away support.
