wait till you watch it all back later though mate, we were far from good, but how the ball stayed out of their net I will never know and their goal had to ricochet off our defenders leg and land perfect for their guy to even have a hope in hell of putting it away, it feels like I said earlier, a bloody curse or something.
I have seen the goal already and that just about sums us up of late any little cockup is punished BUT that is down to us not the simple things, yes their goalie had a great game and we had some bad luck with shots, but I still say if we passed to a teammate if he is in a better position in and around the area instead of glory hunting then we would be more dangerous. At present teams know our problems and are capitalising on them, once the players use their brains and play as a team then we will start to cause problems, we are too easy to play against, especially Kodjia he seems to run into problems because he will not pass, he has a good player alongside him now he doesn't have to do it all himself.

The only thing Round can be blamed for in terms of what happens on the pitch, is chosing Bruce in the first place as our manager. Plenty of other teams have DoF or similar and they do perfectly fine, the question for us is do we have the right one.
Does Bruce have total control of coaching appointments ? - tts a reasonable bet he doesn't.

Been sat thinking and looking back at some old memories of better days and we're seriously missing a "hometown hero" I use quotations as most of these aren't actually hometown but are one of our own. Tayls, Hendrie, hitzlsperger, Yorke, Barry. Steven Davies. There's nobody there that's Villa through and through who we can rely on to step up and bring everybody else up with them. Grealish and gabby aren't that, baker tries but just Isnt that player either. We've not produced our own on pitch leader with the club at heart in so long. I don't know how were correct this, we have to have someone in the ranks who can step up and show the rest of them what playing for Villa really means, not the interview answer or the pay check but true scruff of the neck bleeding for the cause.

Re: Match thread: Villa v Ipswich
How can a team playing 5 across the middle have no midfield.
The amount of long balls being played today was ridiculous.
Why do we stand off teams as if we are afraid of them, be that home or away.
We have the players to scare any team but we worry too much about then.
I am proper fucked of and disillusioned at the moment.

Just noticed that Newcastle away is live on sky, I would like to suggest no match thread and no discussion regarding this fixture before, during and after said disaster, I also predict that the drubbing will be brucie's final game as Villa manager............. there, curse lifted, we will now get promoted.

When we get thru this - & I beleive that we will see a turnaround one day - after these tough years we're going to be the strongest, most resilient fans of any club around.

Great idea, I had already decided that at the next match thread I would go for an abject defeat, then anything more than that would be a bonus, your idea solves all problems though.

Re: Match thread: Villa v Ipswich
Whoa being positive after a result like that one is impossible? We are in free fall and as someone said earlier the players we have brought seem to have immediately cracked under the pressure of playing for a big club. I know there are no easy games in this league but the form of our team is awful and the way we are being played off the park is frightening.
I don't want to have a hire them and fire them regime but Bruce seems lost and I think if we are not out of this slump by the end of the month then we seriously need to take action.

Hmmn lets see.... Shall i watch the Newcastle game and put myself through another torturous 90 minutes of misplaced hope and expectations?
It's live on Sky,
It's away from home,
Nuff said i think i'll see if there's a film on tv or get stuck into business

Re: Match thread: Villa v Ipswich
I've said it before & I'll say it again : we play too deep !!!
Why spend millions on attack minded midfielders & then get them camped out on the edge of our own penalty area. they were supposed to support the attack but given the distance they have to cover to get anywhere near the attack they don't.... We are bringing to much pressure on ourselves by sitting too deep...
Opening quarter on Saturday they sat further forward & chances were being made & after the goal the same but in the intervening period the sat further & further back as though scared....
We need some clean sheets to get some confidence & we need to link our forward players with our midfielders....
3 5 2 might well work but we need to play it offensively not defensively...

I think everyone who had a good record of starting of the match threads has blown their good record now so I think the result may be to do with the shite performance on the pitch?
I need a new interest/sport to watch until Villa sort themselves? Any suggestions?
