I think so too, Smetro. 2-0 that we'll be saying should have been 5-0.

Re: Aston Villa - Stoke October 3rd. 2015
Fuck it......if we´re going to lose. may as well go for it......
Three at the back: Richards, Lescott and Clark. Two deep lying midfielders: Gana and Sanchez. Two wide midfielderc (wingers): Traore and Amavi. Either Jack or Carles in the hole. Gestede and Ayew up front.
Have a what passes for a right back on the bench in case we are getting murdered behind Traore, along with either Jack or Carles plus Veretout and Illori if fit...
Should be attacking enough----!!

I know we all wanna win and score goals, and we all got the correct opinion, but I just think we should stick to one tactic and one system. We shouldn't play around with 442 or 3 backline before 433 is well drilled.
I still think we should keep 433 and utilize our best players. For some reason we tend to play 433 and keep half of the best players we got on the bench.

We really need to stop using Ayew like we use Gabby (anywhere but up front).
What's going on with Ilori? I'll be interested to see if he gets picked if fit. If he doesn't, then quite what the hell Liverpool fans were crying about when he left, it beyond me. I mean, if you can't get in ahead of Hutton....

We used him wide in the cup and he was excellent. And you can't drop a guy who just scored 2 at Anfield

Re: Aston Villa - Stoke October 3rd. 2015
Could Ayew be effective behind the striker?
He liked playing through the middle in France, and he likes having a go at defenders. Traore onside, Grealish the other - he'd have bags of space. And Gil could drop into the place if he isn't performing

Villa must win game this one. People are turning on Sherwood already, i am not one of them but he needs to step up to the mark from now on. 3-1 Villa.

Re: Aston Villa - Stoke October 3rd. 2015
The problem is not down to Tim Sherwood, although he is the current man in the firing line. I've just read that since December 2011 we've taken only 71 points from 73 games having won only 17. 17!! In almost 4 years of football, that's unbelieveable and equally amazing that we've managed to stay up.
There is a culture of failure at the club and without knowing all the specifics, there is a huge finger pointing at Randy Lerner. I'm not an RL hater, I think he's generally well meaning but ultimately clueless as an owner. His record at The Browns is a direct mirror of his record here. I'm afraid that regardless of the manager, the club will ultimately fail because the man right at the top is a failure. Certainly as far as ownership of sports teams is concerned.
Sherwood and Fox seem to understand this, but they don't have the power, ability or both to change it. Changing the manager won't solve it and unfortunately, the movers and shakers in football now know this. Top managers and players won't come to our great club while RL is incharge.
Never mind, 4-0 Villa :)

It's a pretty big win if we do. It pulls us out of the quagmire and with two wins on the go we are solid mid table, which is basically the best we can expect this season.
I'd love to see a 433 with Gil and Ayew next to Gestede and Grealish creating from the midfield. Normally we would be overrun with that I think, but it's Stoke at home. If we can't go all out shotgun today, when can we?

According to some random Stoke forum Gestede caused all sorts of problems for them in the air when he played for Blackburn.

Lescott on the cover of the match day program. Can't say that that's good news for our defence.

With the right delivery he will cause all PL defences problems in the air, it all depends on the delivery from the wide areas and not wafted passes at that!

Re: Aston Villa - Stoke October 3rd. 2015
I honestly don't get why we would play Lescott over Clark.
*Clark had a really big season last campaign and he could improve.
*He is easily just as good as Lescott atm, and will only get better.
*He also suits a Richards partnership MUCH better.
Signing Lescott and playing him over Clark is pure nonsense. Keep doing that and I can't be on board with TS as our manager.

Gil, Grealish and Ayew all benched
That's it for me. Sherwood has to go.
He actually managed to pick one of the worst lineups and tactics we could have done. How on earth this man is the manager of our club I'll never know.
