Just to add a little more to who the new owners may be, I threw my hat in a few weeks ago that it could be Usmanov ( on the villa blog)
My reasoning behind this was with Lerners track record of signing managers how the hell did he pull Fox out of his ar*e which brings me to the next point why did Fox take the job knowing the club was to be sold ( as he said in his recent interview that no one was safe). The Fox appointment bugs me and I can only put it down to Fox was "introduced" to Lerner by whoever is taking over the club but that throws up more speculation because of Tom's past ie American, NBA Asia and of course Arsenal, now I go for Usmanov because that is the most recent contact for Tom.
Don't you just love wild speculation and that is why I read this blog so avidly

I think Fox taking the villa job is just one of those random things that happen. I don't think he came here for anything other than a pay rise and a chance to be top dog.
I don't think he has anything to do with the takeover and he probably be replaced when the new owners come in.

Thanks for the contribution Keith we covered all this and more last summer haha!! Even tracked usamanov boat to pretty much the same pace as Randy's jet haha!! You name it we've found a link haha!! It wouldn't surprise me if it was him, he'd have to rather pubically sell his share in arsenal though, so if that happens get to the bookies and fast ha!

It's no specific individual that is mega rich. No doubt that this group will spend more than Randy has recently but I can't see it being in the same bracket as the top 4. I've heard there's a couple of people involved that are Villa through and through so I think we'll be in safe hands. Can see the club being a lot more transparent with fans from now on too, providing there's no problems and take takeover actually goes through.

Sale is for around £180m which has been met with no trouble.

They will grow us from within - we will be self sufficient. In terms of whether they'll splash the cash, hard for anyone to say, even the Villa men involved. We will only see their level of ambition over the next few years but it all sounds very promising.

Summed up nicely in other posts, however I don't think him leaving will in anyway be connected to the bid. It would be the ONLY thing imo that could tempt him to stay. If he wants to play CL we can't give him that (at least not yet) so he'll be off. I've been ok with it as I've expected it all season to be honest. We will have pulled off a near miracle if he is still here when the transfer window closes!!

They understand what is needed to compete in the Premiership. They will spend.

But spend like City, United, Arsenal and Chelsea? No.

We need to grow to be able to compete like that. And rightfully so.
