Nope. If they want him they can pay the rate for him. No cast-offs
Quite agree, Borini just doesn't domit for me. His assists and goals stats are poor, which probably means he will fit in well.
He refused Sunderland last year, he wants the benefits but not the burden of being a. Professional footballer, likes the Liverpool tag, let them pay his wages and drain their finances, not ours.

Re: Christian Benteke
All this stuff about Benteke to Liverpool is media click bait. The titanic looked good before it sank. Liverpool have millions of fans who willingly click on stories about a world class player they think their club deserves but actual world class players cannot wait to get out the place.

Re: Christian Benteke
We all know the press twist anything for a story. Imagine this conversation.
Juorno: I hear Spurs are very interested in you Christian.
CB: Spurs? You're having a laugh, I'd rather go to Liverpool!
Headline: Benteke "I want Liverpool move"
All bollocks.

Micky Quinn on TalkSport has said that the deal for Benteke with Liverpool is £7M, with Enrique and Lambert as part of the deal. #AVFC

Re: Christian Benteke
While those deals are absolute shite and we should be holding out for the release clause fee, and while I would be sad to see him go, I think it's time for two reasons:
a) we have no takeover - and 32 million would therefore be priceless in strengthening the whole team.
or
b) we have a takeover we a rich owner or consortium, and the money isn't much of an issue and we will be able to afford a replacement (although one that may not have had such an impact as CB)
or
c) we have a basement budget new owner - in which case a) applies.
While he has been an absolute beast for us and his goals pretty much have kept us in this division, I think that with much more strength throughout the team we wouldn't have been so reliant on him anyway. Strikers don't come along like him everyday, but wise reinvestment in another striker and others (eg gueye for 9m, austin for 12-15m, chery for 2-3m and clasy(?) for 8m) would overall add much more strength. (We would of course still need a new LB and GK imho at least)
I still think he will bomb at liverpool and would do much better at a team like chelsea, but I just want it done so we can get on with life without CB.

I've got a quiet day in today so I might enjoy a few beers. Is there a decent time to get started in the world of TBAR?

A mate of mine actually sent Benteke some of the stuff Liverpool fans were saying about him. Wonder if he ever read it? Ha.

I've just been told that it is on the cards for him to leave, so much so that they are planning for Benteke to not even bother flying out to Portugal

Re: Christian Benteke
Quite ironic really, Liverpool have a value they want for Sterling & wont compromise, why do they think Villa should be any different with Benteke ?
I just cant see CB fitting in with how Liverplop play, he isn't mobile enough, I think he could spectacularly fail as Balotelli did last year !

Re: Christian Benteke
All this Benteke talk is annoying as it's simply Liverpool using the local press to tap up and unsettle a player. All of the new reports come from Merseyside and it's total desperation from a once glorious club that they need to use the press to attract players.
I'd read more into Tim's comments yesterday about the Benteke situation than i would any of the recent press articles and he was very quick in offering a bet to Colley that Benteke would be here this season.
i fully believe that both Tekkers and Delph will be here this season.

Wish I shared your optimism, guess it depends on if the takeover goes through, but the buy out clauses must first be met.
