As I don't use twitter can someone confirm that the picture of the hands in the Dr's tweet were clapping and not praying, as that could change the whole meaning of the message.

There's what appears to be a soundwave eminatting from the hands, so I presume they're clapping. Also I don't think Xia would pray for such a thing on twitter, maybe for a Villa win but not for the signing of a particular player.

It is 100% deffo a writing hand as it says so when you hold the cursor over it

I doubt Terry would want it. That is synonymous with his time at Chelsea and my guess is he would want to compartmentalise that entirely. Could be wrong, of course, but I think he'll take an alternative even if it is offered to him.

we are being linked with joe Hart. FFS I hope it's true, I don't think it is but I would bust a nut if we signed him.

I don't see there being much chance whatsoever of Joe Hart, he'll want £100,000 or more a week, and the year before a world cup, will want to be playing in the Premier League.

John Terry seems pretty much nailed on if the rumours are to be believed, IMO we would be better served spending the money elsewhere, Chester & Baker are fine at this level.

Being linked with Jonathon Walters now by John Percy; I personally think he's slightly overrated because he's hard working, he doesn't get much in the way of goals or assists, which is what we need, if we're to be spending money on an attacking player, plus he's another who's well into his thirties.

It almost feels like Bruce can't manage the team, so he's going for a bunch of experienced players, in the hope that they can manage themselves.

I'm completely nonplussed by all of this, I reckon for the first time in years we actually have a decent team, we just need them formed into a unit, the dead wood removed and a longterm keeper brought in (or keep Johnstone) and we'll be off. André Green is our left winger, he looked great last season when he played, he needs to be nurtured and not left on the side in favour of someone new.

I know it's the summer transfer window thread, I'm thinking just transfer out a few players and we're sorted!

On the one hand I look at the squad, and think that we should have enough to challenge for automatic promotion, without making any signings, but then I remember last season, and ask myself, are things just going to suddenly change over pre-season, are we going to suddenly going start passing to each other, being more attack minded, see Grealish and Green getting more time, be able to score without Kodjia, et cetera.

Basically the most important change needs to come from Bruce's and the players' mindsets, I'm hoping that having Terry around (presumably) will help with that.

I'm pleased the Terry deal is only for one year. Makes me a lot more comfortable with it.
