January '17 Transfer Window

Feels like another Summer-type rebuilding window rather than a parachute-job rescue buys. Only difference will be higher prices I suppose.

I know nothing about the Johnstone lad except he's young, experienced at the lower levels and has potential. But we already have one of those so I can only guess that Gollini wants to go back to Italy. If it's because of footballing reasons then, for me, it's disappointing.  He made a lot of mistakes when he first came in but he learns. I'd much rather stick with someone like that especially when he's bought and paid for.

Just updated: 1loan done&1loan and 2-3 buys undergoing.

So I'm guessing the loan done is Johnstone, the ongoing loan is Jenkinson and we still have potentially another three buys to get!!..COME ON!! .

Interestingly Bruce said after the Leeds game that buying a striker for 4 weeks was not viable unless that player is a genuine improvement on what we have already as we have Ross, Gabby, Jack? and some young lads. Plus I assume if Ghana or the Ivory Coast don't get through to the finals then Kodjia and Ayew could be back earlier?

Midfield is definitely our problem as we all know and hopefully we get that sorted ASAP!

I see Derby have apparently bid in the region of 2.5M for Lansbury?

We should be in there with an offer that's a real bargain!!!

So many times have we grabbed a player just because they are good (maybe), when we should have been searching for players to fit an existing system to improve what we already have.......... Hoping Brucie's experience pays dividends this window.

Who scored the winner for Barnsley today, an attacking midfielder, no chance then!

I'm hoping that display today hastens our January incoming business. Is there a way we could simply concede the FA cup game at Spurs? McGrath help us. I thought 4 players this window would be pukka, turns out we need 6-7. Especially when RHM can't get in front of Gabby, definitely means we need a striker or two. Add two CMs, cover at CB, a RB, LM. Think we might have to start accepting the playoffs as a bonus this season.

We're getting to the stage where it's going to be hard to attract players with aspirations of playing in the Premier league anytime soon. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of our targets wait until the end of January to see if our situation has improved.

I think we're lucky to still only be seven points adrift after only getting one point from Cardiff and Leeds. That's okay though but obviously we have to go a running streak to actually close the gap.

Not sure what the fuss is about with Lansbury, not sure if he's the type of player to come in and fix our problems, don't think the Forest fans rate him all that highly and I've seen a few references to him having off-field problems too.

Brady is at least creative and naturally left sided which we are currently lacking!

Lansbury is experienced and has been considered by most pundits to be one of the top performers in this league for a few years now? What you have to remember is fans tend to err on the negative side of players?

Anyway I would prefer Katie Price and Julian Clary in midfield over AFW and GG for the next game?

We're being linked with a move for Chery at QPR, he's an upgrade on what we have..............but then so is metal Micky.

Toner hasn't played for Walsall since the 13th December after they got beaten by Oldham at home, presume that they have recalled him because he isn't getting game time?

Basically I think we can ignore our reserves as Bruce doesn't rate them or won't play reserves?

Sky reporting we've got a bid in for Lansbury

So today we've been linked with Teron Cherry from QPR and Lansbury from Forest. I must say both of these would greatly enhance our midfield right now. Lansbury scores and creates goals as so does Cherry. Add in a left winger and we should be flying.

I think even Angela Lansbury would probably score more than our current midfield does.

It's not Angela Lansbury is it? I was joking.

Sky Sports News and John Percy are claiming that we've made a 3m bid for Lansbury now. With his contract running out at the end of the season I can't see Forest digging their heels in too much hopefully.

I think that is about double what Derby offered? Nice to be busy early

Looking on a QPR forum they don't seem to rate Chery very much at all, despite him seemingly having good stats. If we're in for Lansbury, I hope it's alongside another midfielder like the guy from Barnsley or Matty James.

Lol oh what a bad thing it is to be productive huh?

In his last season in Holland he got seventeen goals, then in his first season for QPR he got ten goals, this season he has four already. I'd take that all day long. Him and Lansbury alongside Jedinak would no doubt improve our attacking prospects.

Yes going by all that he sounds like a good player. But I don't think we'll sign both him and Lansbury as they sound like they might be similar types of players. Don't think the Chery thing came from a reliable source anyway.

Still hoping for Hourihane.

Definitely Hourihane for me as the first choice over everybody!
