Just saying, he has pace to burn, been humiliated about his actions. Worth giving a chance say a sub at 60 minutes and see what he does.

Yup agreed. I still think we need a CAM because of our tactic. 433 or 4231 puts a lot of milage on Grealish, McCormack and Ayew. If we get injuries or fatigue here we will need depth.

I'd be happy with a world class number nine and right back coming this week.

Not for me. He hasn't pulled his finger out when we needed him to. He scored one goal last season (18 appearances) and celebrated like a complete dick. We need an in-form striker who scores goals, that's not Gabby.

I would have him on the bench, if he still has that pace we know it will cause problems to many teams, he certainly looks in shape, if hes willing to fight for the shirt then so be it. many of us forget the goals he has scored for us. notably against the scum

When we really, really needed him to step up last season and help drag the club to safety, like a real fan would want to, did he step up?

The owner made it clear what he expects from players, Gabby just doesn't have it anymore. If we have space on the bench for Gabby I'd rather that space went to Stan. But that's not going to happen. Gabby needs to go off on loan, and if he works his arse off and shows he wants to play - rather than just take his huge pay packet for not doing anything - then maybe he could be considered for next season. But that's not going to happen either.

The other thing is the owner appears to have a huge amount of money to spend, so why go with Gabby (just because he used to score goals) when we can buy a decent striker?

The issue I have with Gabby is that this hasn't been a one season thing.
From the rumours we are all aware of, he seems to be one of the senior players who sparked a lot of discontent in the dressing room.

I think (and this is my own opinion) that he got a bit too big for his boots, thought he was Mr. AVFC and had far too much influence on the players.

He should have got his head down and worked hard on the pitch. Now it seems he is looking for redemption. Yes, I do appreciate his commitment to Villa (up until two-three years ago) and im willing to give him a 2nd chance but he has to prove it. And if that means going out on loan then so be it.

But ultimately we may have seen the last of him. If new blood is coming in, who are five years younger, quicker and more motivated then we don't need him.

What is a shame, is that he will remembered as a nitrous oxide addict who couldn't give a shit rather than the servant he was for the club for most of the last ten years.

Where was Gabby last season? Or the season before? Or the season before that?

For 3 seasons we had Benteke saving us from relegation. When Benteke was injured it could've cost us - did Gabby step up? After we sold Benteke and it was clear we were in trouble last season - did Gabby step up?

I have seen quotes from DRM that the Klingon may be paid off if he doesn't find a club. Why is he saying this now? Surely if Klingon knows he may be paid off, its easy for him to wait for the cash and then find another club as a free agent and so benefit from his uselessness? We already know what a greedy sod he is. We have already had one owner lose interest due to his losses, whilst Dr X seems to be a totally different person I don't want him to get so peeed off with draining cash that he walks away.

The dead wood needs to be got rid off, not rewarded for their lack of moral character, laziness, greed and disgraceful attitiude.

As @nickf21 said, it's not just about his faded footballing ability. Gabby seemed to be behind an awful lot of the behind-the-scenes upheaval that has been going on for years.

And whereas I can forgive him for not being motivated under the old regime and could even forgive him for not giving his all on the pitch, deliberately undermining the club he supposedly loves and was Club Captain of is something I cannot forgive him for.

I'd be surprised if any payoff didn't come with a caveat that he couldn't sign with another club for the next 12 months. I would be happy with this, let the prick lose 12 months and then he'll struggle to find another club at all.
