Villa_dan they could well be the consortium but we do not know how liquid they are, even assuming they have 1bn liquid, it would not take much to slash that in half (look at Lerner). What villa need is longevity and stability, not a quick sale turnover.

They founded SCC in 1975 and turned it into a multi-billion £ IT company, they'll bring stability. Not like they're a couple of chicken farmers or a hairdresser

So who first broke the news about Ellison and Wanda, that´s right, the media. Was this done with any sort of knowledge or are the same arseholes who have slagged us of all season just trying to fill us full of shite.
Mervyn King´s words after he had departed were intersting about the next few weeks will be good news for Villa. So how had his and Bernsteins positions become untenable, what is that all about. Confused at the moment and not so sure that this is not some sort of scam. Hope i am wrong, but we have been massively let down before. Deals have collapsed because of Lerner, lets hope if there is a potential for a deal to go through that it does not get fucked up again.

Could it be Rigby Group instead of Peter Rigby on his own?  

Rigby Group owns SCC lock-stock, as well as a few other investments, and is worth a  little over £2Bn. Rigby group is Sir Pete and a couple of family members. All from the Midlands, and with a history for investing in Midlands interests. They're smart, self-made, and local. Surely they could come in, slash a modest amount of cash and get us up. They could then sell us or invest similarly to the Stoke owners without bankrupting themselves. 

Also could be where the consortium rumours came from. SCC is European wide, Britain-based, ran by local millionaires, and collectively worth more than Lerner. 

Ellison would be dream-land, Dalian Wanda the same, but surely someone like Rigby Group would be the next best option?

100%, the more I look into Rigby and think about a potential consortium, I feel that a decent combined wealth of say 3/4billion along with seriously proven business acumen and self made entrepreneurial talent, would put us in a position to compete far better then Lerner and Ellis before him.

With sound decision making, planning nous and a talented manager we can easily get up and onto top 8 prem in no time. However, all entrepreneurs are calculated gamblers and have many failures before a project hits big.

The dream of the likes on Ellison/Wanda is that theres no limit to where we can take this.............

They attracted investment from Harris & Blitzer.

4 individuals who are individually wealthy and astute businessmen who have put Palace on a sound financial footing.

If we can get a similar consortium of like minded Villa fans there will be no complaints from me.

Compare four individuals who have various successful businesses to Lerner who was given multiple businesses and probably screwed up every one of them.

Whilst it'd be nice to have a "Larry" who can bankroll our initial assault back to the premier league and then launch us into a stratospheric brand until we make enough to be self-sustaining or even profitable, there is no shortage of comfort in having a group of people in charge who know how to run a business, know how to employ the right people and know how to raise capital.

The downside of that is when disagreement between a consortium threatens to disrupt the football club.

Still, anything - and really, I mean ANYTHING - is better than the doofus we have running things now.
