Re: New Chairman?
Didn't realise Mervyn King was such a big villa fan....and he has an uncanny likeness to Deadly Doug!
I want to be positive, but I just don't get how appointing a chairman will make a jot of difference in the general scheme of things!

Short term, no much. Long term, we could do with the stable structure.

Re: New Chairman?
Mervyn King would be another person coming in from a business rather than football background. Theres plenty of business people at the club already so we need a footbsll man like Dein.

I agree EG. Whilst I have no problem with King being involved, as he would be a big hitter in the commercial world and he is very much a Villa fan. However as we all know, we need a big hitter in the football world as well, and someone like Dein would be ideal.

Well Tom Fox is rumoured to have said a new chairman and a new board member....so let's hope he gets something right in terms of bringing football knowledge onto the board of a football club.....what a crazy idea!!

Strangely enough, he would rather have a baguette with his soup.

Probably where I differ from most is that I still believe if Lerner hired a decent CEO - who went out and got the best manager we could - we could still be a reasonable team.
As it stands Lerner isn't interested, Tom fox (in kind words) really has no idea about football, and Remi seems to lack most qualities needed to cut it in the prem.....

+1. Neither Fox nor his managerial choices have been the right ones which has dropped us right in it so if Garde gets sacked for poor results then surely Fox must go too? He also selected Sherwood from a shortlist of one. As for the chairman I would say they are looking but have not found anyone who is prepared to take the role so not imminent at all. Dein must have said no to an approach.

It had all gone quiet on the chairman front - until I believe one of the supporters groups firmly asked the question. The cynic in me wonders had anything been re the chairman search until this point. I believe we are likley to get a figurehead chairman - with Fox still running the show.

Re: New Chairman?
I am past caring about a new Chairman it will change nothing with Lerner still owning the club, I had to remove myself from Villa after last season, I can't be putting my hard earned into a club where you have a guy who really doesn't care or has no ambition for it, he never comes to any matches and makes as many appearances as Father Christmas he has made bad decision after bad decision. When I talk about the Villa I do it for love, when I wear my shirt its with Pride and when I went to the Villa it was because of passion - Lerner, Fox and the rest are motivated by money and nothing else!

Re: New Chairman?
By the looks of things he's come from wealth management and chairs the greater Birmingham local enterprise board. Basically he's a corporate money man with "ties to local businesses" so he's here to squeeze more pennies out of sponsors I'm guessing
