I truly believe TS will be back this summer, as he doesn't come across as a lap dog, like lamberk, McGash, if he isn't backed he will walk and I couldn't blame him.

Re: Summer transfers speculation thread (all links in here until it's official)
Given that the Benteke to Liverpool rumours had been around for some time - together with Rodgers stupid denial - I'd like to think that Villa have already done a deal for a striker or two prior to the Benteke deal being confirmed so we don't get screwed on price.
But that would mean professional foresight on behalf of the club and for the life of me, I just can't imagine that has happened.

WHY have we not gone for him?
His goalscoring record is phenominal.
I just read this piece about him though....which really convinced me he is perfect for us....£14-£15m will get him no doubt.

Further to your reply to your earlier comment one issue is he signs long term deals with clubs- makes it a very expensive process! Secondly, the one issue I know clubs have is that they feel that potentially the types of goals he scores he may not as many opportunities in the premier league. Ie the ball doesn't bounce around as much in the box as it does in the championship etc and at the moment he relies on positioning because he is not gifted with pace but in the premier league defenders are better and will anticipate movement better.
I would want a punt but realistically would you rather spend £15 million on Austin or Rhodes. Similar age, but Austin has prem experience and that what it comes down to in my opinion.

Good point yes. Austin probably the safer bet.
Still surprised nobody has took the gamble on Rhodes yet.

I'd hope we're not after Bolassie. Crystal Palace will want 20+ million for him and I think we can find a couple players who would be better for that price. TBH, Bolassie, from what I've seen, is as consistent as Gabby. On his day, he's a world beater, but he goes missing too often in other matches. Granted, I haven't seen a whole lot of the player, but I remember him being quick lackluster in a few games I watched last season.

Ideally not a single fan bought a single shirt this season until Lerner invested the money we've sold for. Know it won't happen, but would be an acceptable protest I reckon.
Would be a shame though, cause I really want that new away shirt.

I have a lovely claret and blue shirt with 'Acorns' across the front. I refuse to walk round advertising a casino.

Think the last shirt I bought had Rovers on it (?), but I don't usually buy shirts. If we spend an additional £ 30 million I will get the away shirt. If not I'll put the cash in my stocks account

Adebayor has liked a insta photo of the salute to Sherwood. Is he playing with us? Is he signing for QPR? Or is he actually nearly done and dusted?

Good point. I have to say though I'd rather advertise a Birmingham children's hospice than an American firm billed as "world's number one accounting software for small businesses".
Am I right in thinking Randy didn't charge the charity a sausage over the three years their name was on our shirts?

Yes mate that was at a time when he didn't worry about a few million a season and everyone loved him. How times have changed!!

You could argue that the clause insertion of Delph's contract was a "professional foresight". I think austerity still reigns supreme and our "professional foresight" will be to "do more with less".

Had a thought in actual fact for a great "protest" against Lerner. Like to sex pistols flag (which I wasnt too keen on - but hear me out) for the cup final. Have a load of scarves made with the motto printed on "No Ambition - No Hope" which would be a mockery of the "Proud History Bright Future" scarf give away...
Get 10,000 of these and lay them out on the seats of the Holte, ask Villa Brigada 1874 to display banners of the motto, even get a plane to fly over VP with a banner! Problem would be getting it inside VP - so maybe downsize a little, get 3000 printed for a selected away game....
I could start it but I'm a lazy bugger but If someone could have the get-up-and-go to get this going I'd contribute to the funding.

Where are you hearing this from? I'd take a chance on both these than Austin and Adebayor

Does he not have fitness problems, just heard them say on Talksport that he has failed a medical at Hull in the past

What would you be trying to achieve? A new owner? We are for sale there's not much else Lerner can do unless you want him to fund a new spending spree which isn't going to happen. Personally I think with the current set up our future for the first time in a few seasons is actually looking a lot brighter. How about we pack out every game and get behind the team? Crazy idea I know!

Yeah we can't force out an owner who already wants out.
Unless you'd rather he simply downed tool and flogged us to a Carson Yeung type?
All such a protest would achieve would be another toxic atmosphere at games.

Jordan Ayew has posted on his Facebook Page:
"EPL........ENGLAND LOADING....YAA ALLAH...90 percent.." With a picture of Villa's crest.
https://m.facebook.com/pages/Jordan-AYEW-11/1516748575215366?sk=info&tab=page_info
Apparently, Nixon has confirmed we are after him, too. Looks like Benteke's replacement.
Edit: I'm all screwed up. I posted that it was Andre, his Brother.

Jordan doesn't inspire whats so ever 150+ games 31 goals. He can't be a replacement for Tekkers.

Interesting. Maybe TS thinks he can get more return out of him. He's been linked with a few in the EPL but that Villa badge post is interesting....
