Will we be up for it?
ASTON VILLA Vs BURNLEY : Sunday 24th 3:00pm.
Happy days! Our last game of the season is a Villa Park sell out and we're SAFE!
No stress, no tears!
Will Tim Sherwood play some fringe players or will he want to hammer the team back into shape after last week's debacle? With the FA Cup Final rapidly approaching, what is best for the Villa team selection on Sunday, change or play our strongest team?
There should be a party atmosphere at VP, but will we go out with a whimper or a bang?
What do you think guys?

Easy win.
I'm expecting Sherwood to give a few new or not-regular faces a run (Gil? Sinclair?) maybe a couple of young lads like Audrey Hepburn-Murphy or Kinsella, mixed with a couple of people who need to recover from last week or stay sharp (Given, Okore, Vlaar, Benteke, Gabby)

This would probably be my team. I know it's ridiculous - Gil and Cole in a 3-man midfield is insane - but I don't care!
I'd probably look to only give Gabby 45-60 mins, and then stick Robinson up top and bring on Green or Hepburn-Murphy etc
It matters not to us, Burnley are gone so we're not doing anyone a disservice, and bar training ground stupidness, we keep the players safe for the cup final.

Didn't we have a promising young left back make the bench during the season? Kinsella I think his name was?
I'd also like to see two of Callum Robinson, the centre back whose name defeats me and Rushing Audrey Hepburn given a 20 minute run.

Andre Green is being tipped to play at some stage. Not seen him but I know he's highly regarded.

Lewis Kinsella. Considering the shit state of our LB situation I'd play him.
Donacien is a centre half

On a side-note, I went onto a Tranmere forum to ask about him and they said he was far too good for League 2. They also said he looks better at right-back.

An entertaining Desmond to finish off the season, may we never have to endure a league season like this again !

We've reached the last day of the season and we can heave a huge sigh of relief. Whatever you think of Hull and Newcastle you have to feel for their fans today. One less point and we would have joined them in shivering and shaking like sh*tting dogs! Instead we can sit back and enjoy the day, while we wait for the potential excitement that the summer could bring.

Nope, not an ounce of thought for Newcastle at all. I hope they go down again, and i hope it's with a legendary late twist that steals their premiership position just when they thought they had it secured with seconds to go. I hope beetroot Bruce gets one over them. Would love to see Carvers face if they go down.

Question,
As we have avoided a last day panic situation by the skin of our teeth (Or 1 point if you prefer) of the 38 points we have which one would you think was THE point which saved us? Southampton at home 0-0? Man Utd at home 1-1 maybe?

Definitely this > It was a game changer IMO - From then on there was always a scenario that we could possibly get relegated - but we then had so many get out of jail cards (and used 1 v southampton !)
Would like to see some fringe \ younger players get some pitch time today.....think it could be quite a low key affair...

I reckon QPR.
We'd lost 4 of our last 6 games in the league (Stoke, Newcastle, Swansea and Man Utd.) since Sherwood took over, and while some of them were unfortunate we'd picked up 6 points from a possible 21. Then the QPR game happened. QPR had just SMASHED baggies and looked like they could pick up some momentum and we needed some belief going into our toughest run of games, so if something had gone wrong here it could have given a boost to our relegation rivals while sucking some of our confidence away.
We came from behind twice, Grealish got his first real starring role in the league and started his great partnership with Delph and the Benteke hattrick showed that he was back to his best under Sherwood.
If it wasn't for Benteke's 83rd minute eqauliser I think the next few games could have played out VERY differently.
