Re: Paul Lambert
I wonder if Lambert doesn't want an assistant so it makes it harder for Lerner/Fox to ditch him during the season?

Re: Paul Lambert
Forest sack a club legend because they were crap
Faulkner resigns because he is crap
Lambert wont resign, we all know he is crap
This bunch of muppets will keep backing him because they are not football people and dont have a clue what this means to us as fans.

Re: Paul Lambert
I just cant understand what he must do to be relieved of his duties, he must be bulletproof ?
If we were going to make a change it would of happened already , Lerner wouldn't of sanctioned the acquisition of Gil & Sinclair if he had thought of replacing him, at least our next fixture isn't a tough one !

Re: Paul Lambert
I've just quickly read an article where Lambert has defended his tactics and stated that he believed we were still well in it around the 60 odd minute mark.
Now, I didn't see the game but I've read We were 3-0 down around the 60 odd minute mark.
Is there a manager of any team anywhere in the world who honestly believes he's still in with a chance of getting points whilst 3 goals behind away from home with a half hour to go, let alone a manager who's team haven't scored a league goal in over 10 hours of football and who are the lowest scoring of any team in the land?!?!
He's either chronically delusional, trying to convince his current boss or other stupid chairmen that he's a fantastic but unlucky manager or he's simply nervous when put on the spot by the media and prone to saying silly things.

I haven't seen the article, but playing devils advocate I assume by his comments he meant we were in it for an hour or so....which we were, until Ozil scored on 56 mins....that's around an hour in most peoples eyes.
We collapsed after that...until then, we could/should have been level really. Weimann's miss was appalling, and Benteke had a half chance early in the 2nd half.

Re: Paul Lambert
I wouldn't say we were in it. I mean, we were in as much as at 1-0 there is always a chance of course, but... nah, we huffed and puffed a bit, but I wouldn't say Arsenal were ever out of 2nd gear.

Re: Paul Lambert
This season on average we score approximately every 190 minutes. By 56 minutes into the game on Sunday we hadn't scored for over 500 minutes. We can only assume therefore, that Paul "Statto" Lambert, must have been thinking that we were due at least a couple, if not 3 at that point.

Re: Paul Lambert
PL has said a few times that he doesn't believe in stifling players with instructions, he tells the players that he trusts them to just go out and express themselves. Lambert must be really frustrated with his players, after all he's done his best in training by telling them that it's up to them what they do on match days, and then they go and let him down like this!
I bet he's so upset with the way they've let him down, that he'll make them do exactly the same again next match. That'll teach them.
I'm not joking by the way!

Slightly blowing my own trumpet but I wrote an 'open letter to Aston Villa' last night via my Twitter account, it's there if anyone wants to read it:

(It's pretty much about Paul Lambert hence why I posted it in this thread)

Re: Paul Lambert
I've been saying this for about 14 months now (and why I finally gave up on PL) He hasn't demonstrated he knows how to fix this, in fact it appears he has no clue and IF we do survive, it will be more by luck than any plan. This is the clearest signal to me that change is needed. He can't put it right and is lost. He's abandoned every philosophy he's tried to implement, young and hungry, up and at them (norwich days) Counter attack and even now there are signs that as soon as we can't find a pass, we lump it. He is lost and we will pay the ultimate price.
Weak club, weak owner, weak leadership and management and weak team, any surprise?

Excellent Kimbo. Unfortunately as you say, more cathartic than effective. Nevertheless it voiced a lot of our thoughts and perhaps eventually the shear weight of discontent may have an effect. Voices from the greater football family are becoming increasingly loud, so who knows.
Thanks for taking the time Kimbo.

Cheers bud. It has had 120 retweets (not including 'edited' RT's) so it's had far more exposure than I thought it would, but still, it won't do much good where it matters.DaveAV1 wrote:Excellent Kimbo. Lambert could sign 3 of the best players in the world and still fail to play attacking football!

Just read Dave Kidds page in the Mirror. about Lambert, Bruce & 'arry still lucky to be in a job.
Last sentence "it's sometimes better to flip a coin than give the impression you couldn't give a toss"
Tom Fox, I hope you're reading this.

In that case how about Fox creates his own 'bomb squad' for Paul Lambert to go and train with the reserves and we hire a grown up manager?

Re: Paul Lambert
It can't be doing PL's career any good to be presiding over the disaster that is Villa at the moment. We are appalling, have never seen a team so utterly clueless and shambolic as what i saw on Sunday. Lambert needs to man up and resign while he still has a shred of dignity left. I for one would respect him more if he quit after realising that the job is too big for him - to keep clinging on is pathetic. If he's looking for some sort of payout then i've got a tenner with his name on it if he'll just eff off, anyone want to join me ?
