He's gone & to give a famous quote "We go again", thanks for the goals benny they kept us in there, now lets move on and put a better team together. But I think he could have given us one more year and had his pick of the best, he obviously thought we were worse than the 'pool. :!:

As much as I hate the Bin dippers and their self pitying constant whining, LFC are still a massive club and a big step up on anything we can offer. They are actually trying to compete, spending big, aim for top 4 and beyond, we on the other hand simply are not, we are the polar opposite. A complete shambles of a club devoid of ambition and quality. Yes I think he could have done better, but I hope we have a sell on clause and he does well then fucks them over for his dream move to Man Utd

Benteke deserves nothing but my gratitude and respect. I'm disappointed that it's Liverpool he's gone to but it's his decision and I wish him well (except in 2 games this season!)

I think he's going to score loads for them, or he'll initially struggle and those great fans will be on his back.

They already question his signing even though Benteke could easily be playing Champions League for somebody next season. They don't realise how good he is.

Oh well. He served us well and Mr Lerner has ensured that we're in no position to persuade him to stay. Why should he contemplate another season of scoring all our goals and struggling to stay up?

We have to make sure there is some major good news to offset this last week or so. There is some money to spend, spend it properly and give us a lift. We deserve better than this.

I hope Lerner has come over in relation to this, but I'm not holding my breath.

Can't argue with everything that has been said about him.

Without his goals Villa would be in the Championship, so I have nothing but gratitude for his efforts in keeping us in the Premiership. I wish he had 'played' in the Cup Final but there again I wish a lot of them had bothered to turn up!

Best of luck to him, think he could have done better than those whinging scousers but it is his choice!

if he'd stayed another season he would have pulled clear of Andy Gray and Dwight Yorke. now they remain about level on the legendometer. only 42 goals but every single one magnified in importance to the club.

Benteke wanted a move after his first season, so every closed season we have endured his agent trying to sell him. Hope he enjoys playing in the Europa League on a Thursday night because I still don't think LFC will break into the top 4.
Be interesting to see how his agent trys to get him another move in a couple of years time.

He's no legend to me. In fact, he's dead to me now. He's been after a move, to a 'bigger' team, almost from the off. I could almost forgive him for that - if he hadn't gone to a shitehouse team like Liverpool.
