Four exits in five cup competitions under Lambert to lower league teams.

We had such a defensive look about the side tonight, Grealish and Cole apart where was the creativity supposed to come from! Awful tactics!

If this doesn't prove 4231 doesn't work to him then nothing will. Just doesn't allow enough creativity

All those midlands clubs with home advantage in the 2nd round and only the Baggies scrape through, and they were lucky!

I wasn't frickin' joking last night either. Depth in our squad - yeah right, dream on!

Villa want me to spend money on the club then they need to sack Lambert effective immediately, I will not justify spending 1 penny on a twat that can not and will not alter his tactics for the good of the game. If there is 1 person that still backs Lambert you either work for the club, you are Paul Lambert, a blue nose or you are taking the piss.

I would almost go as far as saying that if you are still supporting Lambert you should be ashamed of yourself.

Lambert sounding sheepish here talking to Jack Woodward, none of his usually 'we go again' b*llocks: https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/504746114235785216

I'm bitterly disappointed and yet sadly, not surprised with the result....Best for me to just go to bed and sleep on it as I'm sick of talking about this shit.

Having woken up and seen the result the most damning thing I can say is I'm not remotely surprised. I hope I'm wrong but I think this defeat will be the first in a run of humiliations. It's a sad state of affairs when an upcoming fixture against Hull City fills you with dread

Oh FFS! I read Maz's post about our lack of attacking prowess in the first half but expected to read on about genius tactical changes and a 3-0 win.
What an absolute fucking cock this manager is. If he has any ounce if decency he'll be telling the club that we won't be in in the morning. Or any other morning.
How embarrassing!

I actually couldn't give less of a shit that we lost tonight. Either I've lost all faith in the Villa and don't care any more or the 4 free pints of beer I had in the corporate box during the game kicked in just before the final whistle. So glad I didn't renew my season ticket this season despite the pathetic pleading of the Villa ticket office. I'll spend my hard earned pennies watching better football at Solihull Moors this season.

Also most entertaining moment of the match was watching two Villa fans getting kicked out of the Trinity for 'voicing' their opinions at Paul Lambert. Hope he got the message loud and clear...

2 shots on target in 3 games ? Stick 2 up front and then all the chances wouldn't fall to the same, unable to finish, striker

First morning's itinerary for Mr Fox.
1: Identify reason for shocking crowds, shocking football and massive loss on revenue.
2: Sack it like a boss.
3: Replace with polar opposite.

He's a genius. You have made one sub and its not working. Most managers would use other subs. But that's exactly what everybody was expecting. See? Genius.

Got good wingers ? Play a system without wingers.
Got some good forwards ? Play one up front.
Need to win a game ? Sit back and hope for extra time.

Re: villa v Leyton Orient match thread
I was fast asleep when all this shit was going on so tell me what happened in the last ten minutes?
Did he take off a creative midfielder and put a new right back on? I know something stupid happened. Had to have. When Lambert is under pressure, he does stupid, stupid things.
