Match Thread WBA v Villa @ Hawthorns 7.12.2018
Well this is another banana skin game, Prutton has once again put us down for a 2-2 draw, I know its a local derby and we are away from home, but we have to hope that we can continue our performances of late, I can't see us doing a Derby or Boro but I think we can shade it in a close game, but if the boys want to go on another goal fest who am I to protest, and boy would it make another statement UTV

I'm not overly confident for this one, they'll be playing like possessed demons to get one over us, and I do worry that we're getting a bit over confident at the moment, Smith has improved us beyond what I had thought possible in such a short space of time, but some are going on as if we've suddenly turned into Barcelona and everyone's scared to play us.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's another high scoring game, and it's just a question of which team can outscore the other on the night.

As long as we don't get over confident we can win this in a high scoring game, 2 - 3! UTV

Hope to come back with all the points, need to attack from the off, and control the game. UTV.

We should have been out of sight, but the crappy ref and a cheating dago rob us, he hand balled that goal at least twice and he knew it, oh well.

Ah I'm so pissed off with that. Robbed by a clearly illegally handled goal, a decision that really puts an exclamation point on how poor the officiating in this league can be.
Also annoying, the commentators chirping on about that the "luck" of the deflection for El Ghazi's first may have been balanced by the "luck" of Baggies scoring via illegal contact. No, not at all the same you sugarbag, as there was no infringement causing the deflection for the first. And talking about Abraham must be ruing his missed chances, had he scored then the goal wouldn't've mattered. No you absolute bellshine, whether he scored or not was irrelevant, we should have won that game 1-2 and the handball should have been disallowed.
Unbelievable.

Their player admitted it in the interview on the pitch afterwards, said it came off his hand, the referee didn't see it and sometimes luck goes your way. He just admitted to cheating. Any chance he can be handed a red card and banned for the next three matches?

Gutting that we didn't get the win. I can see Leeds, Norwich, Forest and Derby all winning tomorrow as well, which will put us, seven points off the play-offs, and ten points off top two, we seem to be getting no reward for our good form whatsoever, with other teams having easier fixutres, just as we have all these hard games.
One plus is that the more we play under Smith, the more confident I am that we're genuinely one of the very best sides in the division, it's just a question as to whether it's too late or not. The thing that's killing us, is the run of games under Bruce, when we couldn't beat any of Ipswich, Brentford, Reading, preston, Millwall, Blackburn, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday... If Smith had those games we'd be running away with the division now.
At least we're maintaing our unbeaten run, and I've always felt, that if we can get to January within single digit points of top two then we'll have a good chance of promotion.

On current form i still don't think automatic promotion is out of the question, but i also feel way more confident of possible play offs than i did last season. I really never fancied us against Fulham, this year though we are capable of spanking anyone.
As for the ref and linesman, if you can't make the big decisions at crucial moments in the game its probably time to find a new profession. Feel particularly bad for El-Ghazi as we should be talking about his wonderful strike to win the game instead of another pathetic display of officiating.

Why did Chester turn his back on that? Nyland should also be going for it. Chester and nyland to blame. Because We should always remember the officials r u enemies and always will be. Every other games officials have done and we always fuck us, whether on purpose or not. UTV!

Well with the ref, a cheater, and a bad day at the office for Tammy, we still came away with a point. We have come a long way under DS, I still believe we can get automatic promotion. UTV.
