Cabbage-gate is making us a laughing stock with Sky Sports even having a video of the offending vegetable on their site!

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
I don't understand the point of keeping him for the Millwall game, just bring in a caretaker manger who everyone can get behind, so we can go all out for the three points. Even if they sack him in the international break, I can see it dragging on and on, just to prolong the misery... I'm just hoping that now the local press have turned on him that's a sign that they know something, because I don't they'd jeopardise their relationship with him, if they thought he was staying.

Good grief, it has finally happened.
Now we just need to worry about who the next manager will be?

If I'd had known it would only take a cabbage for NSWE and Purslow to sack him, I would have thrown one at the start of the season.
McGrath save the Cabbage, we may need it again.

Official now:
Bye Bye
Quote:
Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that manager Steve Bruce and his assistants Colin Calderwood, Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence and Gary Walsh are leaving their posts with immediate effect after having their contracts terminated. The process to appoint a new manager is under way.
A Club statement issued on behalf of the Board said:“We would like to place on record our gratitude to Steve and his team for their hard work and commitment. We wish them well for the future.
“The process of recruiting a new manager has begun. In the meantime, Kevin MacDonald, Aston Villa U23s manager, will be in charge of the team for our trip to Millwall on Saturday.”

The good thing is that all the 'football' coaches have gone as well, a bunch of free-loaders, the lot of them.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
About time too, he should of been sacked at half time in the play off final, we never showed up , one game from promotion & he set us up not to lose, that sums his mentality.
This season, difficult summer I know, but why hasn’t he picked up a centre half, was he making a point because the owners wouldn’t spend £3m on JT wages ?
Playing Jedi at CH, again was he making a point?
The GK, where have we found him, only to drop him & bring in a he number 3 keeper ahead of the other keeper he signed?
Take your influential player in Jack and play him wide, who does that?
At least I know why he signed so many right backs, they made up our back four last night.
His signings?
Bree ? Not given a chance
Taylor? Not played too well but at least he gave a little balance
Lansbury? Is he still alive?
Whelan ? Why ?
Jedi ? A CB my arse
Hourihane? Played him RM last night
Thor ? Played ok but dropped all the time
Albert ? Luckily fell into LW last year, destroyed him this
Hogan? Spend a fortune on him & then destroy him too by not playing to his strengths.
I left last night at 2-3, so angry & miserable at the sorry state we’ve become again, it was clear from the beginning of the second half, we were set up not to lose , hold what we have, he must of known the Preston players would of had a kicking from their manager at half time, he has enough time & resources to get us right, he had to go, don’t agree with stuff being thrown at him but when moans at us fans for not respecting him for getting to the play off final, he still lost, he still failed, I for one won’t miss the turgid slow miserable football he has served us up
Rant over, but last night, I thought id seen everything

Not just you mate, I think we've all felt drained by Brucie Hoofball, we might even see Trotter and Narla back.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
So it seems the club is too big for mr Bruce to handle.
He has had a good chance and a good squad.
He has no one to blame. We have the players to attack and destroy most championship teams but he was too afraid to lose and kept the shackles on them. We play Rochdale or Brentford not Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Not all the problems were down to brucie and at times last year he was with us when many wouldn't have been ( loss of parents) so I say good luck to him.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Will be interesting to see where Bruce ends up next, apparently one of the presenters on talksport was suggesting he should takeover Mourinho at United. I can see him perhaps ending up at Stoke if they don't improve, or maybe one of his old clubs like Hull or small heath if Monk decideds he's had enough of all the background shenanigans there.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
This shows mew that the owners have some balls and haven't listened to the old boys network in the media that Bruce is the best manager ever. Good on them. I think the fact that they have sacked the lot of them also tells me that they have someone lined up already. I hope they are brilliant, forward thinking and can organise us quickly. We can turn this around.
