Next Manager - I want names
Well he has gone for expensive experienced players. Im not seeing anything in that approach. JT doesn't look bothered - I just wonder if he has an eye on the managers job.
Who else it out there ?
The guy from Fulham ? - Big sam
I genuinley don't know where we go from here....

Re: Next Manager - I want names
Jokanović and Dean Smith are the first names that come to my mind, in terms of managers who can actually get us playing again. But think Wyness and Round would be more likely to go for someone like Allardyce or Pardew, but I really don't think they're the type of managers that we need, their brand of football is too similar to what we've seen with most of our other previous managers going back to O'Neill, club needs something new, to get with the times.
Doubt we'll go for someone who has no experience of English football though, not that I agree with that strategy.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
Problem is we're pretty well going to have to steal someone else's manager in-season, which always makes me feel bad.
However, if that is the case I'd like Dean Smith or maybe even ranieri. If it didn't scare the hell out of me even thinking about another French manager, I wouldn't say no to Claude Puel.

Someone other than:
(a) a Scottish manager.
(b) a former Blues manager.
I believe Doris the tea lady fits that description.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
Aitor Karanka is a free agent who just got promoted a year ago. The worry is he's largely a defensive manager who's Boro side struggled to score goals. Also have to question his transfer record when you consider he signed Adama and Gestede to name a few.
Jokanovic is clearly pissed off at Fulham due to not being able to sign the players he wants. I think we may be able to poach him if we make a decent offer.
Dean Smith has gone into Brentford and tbh I don't know what to think about him. Yes he was good at Walsall and Brentford were electric last season but one gets the feeling that he's just continued the work Warburton done there already.
Alan Pardew is a man who always starts well at clubs. Worked miracles at both Toon and Palace at times. But things always seem to go wrong in the end which is a worry.
Christophe Galtier was a revelation in Ligue 1 for Saint Ettien and is available. But again one wonders about his style. He seemed quite defensive in France and he's only ever managed one club.
Clarence Seedorf. It's a random name yes, but I just think someone of this stature, who's philosophies are totally different to what this club has had before, would be brilliant for us.
There are others out there like Paulo Sousa who managed Swansea, QPR and Leicester before and has just left Fiorentina. All in all though I think I'd go for Jokanovic or Seedorf. Seedorf has already said he's love to manage in England HERE so I believe we could get him.

I'd love for the club to be adventours and go for someone like Seedorf, I think he'd be big for promoting the youngsters as well, apparently he's extremely intelligent and at a young age at Ajax had a big say in how the club was ran on the football side of things, I just wonder if he'd work under Round, as no offence to Round, but Seedorf could probably do his job better.

You literally said the two only things I know about him
what made it funny, is that it was my suggestion, not a question. Well to me anyway. After all this I'm not sure it was all that funny anyway

To be fair mate, I said the only 2 things I know about him and I still reckon he's a step up from Bruce

Dean Smith seems like the logical choice to be fair. I couldn't care less that he's a Villa fan, but I think it's pretty neat he's local.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
If it's someone with experience of English football then I'd follow others with the suggestion of Jokanovic, got to be worth talking to someone like a Seedorf though. Isn't this what Round is supposed to be doing, laying the foundation of style and putting the personnel in place to follow it through? What I'm absolutely certain of is that Steve Bruce will not get promoted with Aston Villa this season.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
McGrath please don't get another professional wanker who gets the job cause he's famous. No Sherwood. No Seedorf.
Get in a fucking manager for once. Someone that has done the work and gone the grades so to speak.

I think Seedorf would lift the whole place and at least give us an identity we could all get behind. At Milan he had a 50% win ratio aswell. Just think of all the tips and philosophies he will have picked up from Capello, Anchelloti, Van Gaal etc??? I would love to have him here. He said he'd be prepared to manage in the championship like his mate Stam too, So I have no doubts whatsoever that we could get him. I've sent the details about Seedorf to someone close to Xia!!..so the good doctor will be fully aware of Clarence. Him or Jokanovic are the only two for me. We need something entirely different now to get this bloody club moving again.

"Because he's famous"??? Seedorf has already managed AC Milan. Which btw is more managerial experience than Stam had before he rocked up at Reading.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
Bruce had done the work and got the grades, but look how that's working out, choosing the right manager for the club is rather more complicated than bringing in some who's done it before.
For what it's worth I don't there's any chance whatsoever of Wyness sanctioning a move for someone like Seedorf. Names like Moyes, Karanka, Pearson and Pardew will be top of his list; Jokanović is probably the best we can hope for, in terms of a progressive manager who will get us playing again, trouble is he's unhappy at Fulham because he has no money to spend and we're seemingly in the same position, we'd also have to compensation to get him, if he'd even want to come in the first place.

Re: Next Manager - I want names
How about the ex Southampton manager Claude Puel (had to google his name) sacked after one season for Pellegrino but managed to take Southampton to eigth place in the PL, or anyone of 30% of Villa fans in the Holte end, Sorry @smetro just to many names to list.
