Re: Cardiff City v Aston Villa Match thread
That first half was an absolute shambles, no control of the ball whatsoever, or strategy going forward except for hoofing it aimlessly. Really disappointed in Hogan and Lansbury, I'd consider bringing on O'Hare and Hourihane in the second half.

Adomah already on for Elmo so you've only got two left to pick. I'd go for the latter two.

Re: Cardiff City v Aston Villa Match thread
Well I saw 40 mins of the first 45 and wished I hadn't. Onomah is the stand out player by a mile, as good as lansbury is bad. Both him and Hutton must be responsible for giving the ball away more times than not. I'd like to see bree and ohare on for the second half. Once again we do not seem to be able to string a series of passes together and are reverting to the long ball game.
I really do hate Bruce in charge. I hate to be so negative but honestly I can't wait to see the back of him. It doesn't matter who plays in what position, we never seem to play to a pattern or have an obvious gameplan. Having said that, if two out of ten outfield players consistently give up possession, we're on a hiding to nothing anyway. If we've only got 45 minutes of good football in us, I hope to hell it's the next 45.

Re: Cardiff City v Aston Villa Match thread
Agreed. It's a bit like watching Arsenal last night (ok bear with me a bit haha....) - the "Wenger out" brigade were there and turned sour very quickly. One of the commentators made the good point that yes, it's the first game of a new campaign but what was different that didn't make it feel like an extension of last season? Whilst they won in the end, Leciester were incredibly unfortunate.
The point I'm making, is yes we've had a game and a half of the new season and I'm not going to write off the campaign right now, but I absolutely do not think Bruce has offered or will offer anything to suggest he is anywhere near good enough to get us where we want and on that basis it then becomes the inevitable game of seeing how long it will take before the board can't stomach it. The pressure is on, for them to make the right call at the right time in my opinion.
If, and that is a big if, I am wrong I will very happily admit it. Bruce has it all to prove.

I honestly think I even preferred McLeish to Bruce, it will be such a relief when we finally get rid, his none tactics and relying on things like 'passion', being 'real men' and 'turning up with our boots on', is killing us, an absolute dinosaur of a manager, I mean him saying yesterday that he hopes that by the end of the transfer window that we're more like a Neil Warnock side says it all.
It's early but if it carries on like this the club have to make a decision on his future asap.

2-0 Cardiff.
Edit: At least we're no Premier League champions being mugged off by Sean Dyche.

Oh dear, we're getting absolutely thrashed, if it forces the club to get rid of Bruce early it might be a blessing in disguise.
