Started today because of the massive importance of this game.
A win and we are safe, a draw it lingers on for a bit longer, lose, well we all know what that could mean.

So much riding on one game. And the fact is we dont have players that play well under pressure. We need to get a lucky bounce or something to go our way because I cant see us putting in a gutsy performance to get that badly needed win.

I'm normally positive, but now I can feel the hairs on the back of my neck rising. A professional football team should be able to organise themselves sufficiently well (even with restricted resources), in order to get a return of more than one point out of nine matches. Sadly the words "professional" and "Aston Villa" cannot be used in the same sentence. If we get anything out of the Hull game it will be more by luck than judgement.

Is this what Villa has been reduced to? Praying that other very poor teams have worse luck than we do …. That's no way to run a Premiership football club!

I'd settle for a wicked deflection going in off the ref's arse if it gets us the points. As Kill@r33 points out we simply don't have the players with the right mentality for this kind of game.

Mixture of needing a win knowing we are crap and relying on 3 other results to save our ass. This is the weekend where it will be all decided imo. The margins are so slim 1 mistake in any of these relegation matches could prove the difference.

I've been following the Villa for so many years you would think I'd be used to this sort of mental torture by now.

Nope. It will be three pairs of underpants and a cage in front of the telly so that any hurled objects (shoes, tea/coffee mugs, the dog, etc) won't hit the screen during any of my anticipated bursts of ire and frustration.

Massive game for us and I hope the events planned on the Holte will lift the team into one of their rare good days. They do have them, you know

Even if we lose, I think safety will be confirmed on Sunday, when Chelsea stuff Norwich.
