Re: Championship rivals thread 2017/18
Fulham have just took Wolves apart, our result the other week don't seem that bad now, lost by the same score but gifted them the second, Wolves are only 10 points in front of us now so we need to keep winning A to catch em and B to stay in front of Fulham, they must feel invincible at the moment. Keep the faith.

Yeah Fulham worry me.
@smetro made a good point the other day about if Cardiff were to finish second then at least we don't have to face them in the play offs. I guess the other way to look at it is if we finish second we can sit back and watch the likes of Cardiff derby Boro etc scrap amongst themselves whilst we prep for the big league. As for wolves, I'd like to close that gap and ram it down their throats.

I go along with that DK, I took real stick from mates who are Baggies fans when we were going down and when they had a good season the year after, NOW they have the haunted look we had and they have all gone quiet, now the Dingles fans are full of themselves giving it large, and everyone knows their team has been fiddled, getting class players in on loan who wouldn't even look at their team if Mendes wasn't part of the setup, I would love to put the shit up em even if we didn't pull it off.

Then checked and Reading played Bacuna at LB! Makes sense
I had a pint with a Boro fan last night, he said Traore has been their MOTM the last six matches. He said Pulis has transformed him and they're now almost a one-man team.
He's just been sent off for violent conduct so I guess that's Boro fucked if your mate is right
I think he will get more than the standard 3 game ban as well for his reaction after being sent off!

Oh dear!
I still wish we'd been able to let him off the leash and play a load of U23s once we knew we were going to be relegated. Or even before, seeing as we were sleepwalking towards it.

To be fair though they've played both teams at home who have been missing key players. We had no Adomah and Grealish, Wolves had no Neves whilst Jota was on the bench for some reason. Fulham are good, no doubt about it, but they it was only a game or two ago that they couldn't win at Bolton. It's gonna be very interesting to see how they do away from home because that's where they tend to struggle.

Lots of rumours going around that small heath are going to fail FFP and could face some sort of sanction. If true will be interesting to see what punishments they do actually face, given the talk surrounding us regarding Financial Fair Play and the consequences should we fail to meet it.

Sources?
I'd be interested to have a read - that club is the gift that keeps on giving!

I think someone on twitter called Simon Brew mentioned it initially, Tom Ross has said that he got in contact with the club about it, but they haven't got back to him yet. Their accounts for the last year are due in today, so that will probably tell us more.

Cheers I'll try and cross reference how serious the situation is for them by looking up Aldi's most recent planning applications haha.

Got to be honest although they've faded as a direct threat to us, it's still good to see another top 6 side drop points. 5th placed derby drew with forest and ended the match with 10 men after huddlestone got sent off for 2 yellows.

Well 2 points dropped at home by Fulham is music to our ears. Praying for a derby win tomorrow but of course all this is academic if we lose or draw later on.
Wolves march on but tbh apart from us taking the piss they've always had top spot written all over them and if we want Cardiff to implode the by product is wolves are champs, cos we ain't catching them.

Yep! watched the game and QPR were fucking excellent second half and very unlucky not to have stole the game, at 2-0 down they still tried to get that vital goal and on the brink of half time they did, second half Fulham hardly had a shot at goal. As for Derby beating Cardiff, Derby have major injury concerns at the moment but stranger things have happened.

Oh dear, do they? Didn't realise that. I was thinking derby might be our best chance of seeing Cardiff drop points apart from us and the wolves.Fpuppys wrote:De Kuip wrote:Well 2 points dropped at home by Fulham is music to our ears. Still, let's be the sticky out end of the battery and hope for a derby win by a couple of clear goals.
