Does anyone have any hope for this game?

You might be right with that 443 formation I think the only way we'll win is with 11 outfield players.deadbuzzardalive wrote:I think our best bet is either 442 or a variation on 443. Tomorrow I think he'll go for 443 with Kodjia one side of Hogan and someone else the other side, maybe Adomah.

Re: Villa-Barnsley
Any enthusiasm I once had this s son has been knocked out of me.
Another 0-1.
I'd love to be pleasantly surprised but I just know I won't be.
It's soooooo last season.
It reminds me more of 69/70. Nobody thought the great Aston Villa could possibly go down to the third tier but we were proven wrong.
Got an uneasy feeling that the 10+ points we need are going to be difficult to secure.

Barnsley afer Newcastle and Brighton have the best away record in the division. I've feel it might end up being a draw, then it's Newcastle and Derby to come.

Rush goalkeeper in a 4-4-3, that might work!

Re: Villa-Barnsley
I've got no idea about our injury situation, but if everyone are fit I'd go for something straight forward like a 442:
Bree - Chester - Baker - Amavi
Bjarnason - Lansbury - Hourihane - Green
Hogan Kodjia
Maybe even a goalie if we got one spare.

That's a good line-up because we can easily switch to three in the middle if we're getting overrun, and have Green and Kodjia either side of Hogan. But I think that Bree is definitely out with a knee injury.

Re: Villa-Barnsley
Honestly guys, who cares? When Ipswich scored I was doing some chores around the house. I just looked at the TV as the score came in, shrugged my shoulders and carried on. This club has sucked all the emotion out of me tbh. It was there at the start of the season and it will be the at the start of the next, but right now It just feels like a waist of energy.
Bruce will no doubt go 442 as a last ditch effort to save his bacon and who knows, it just might work. Regardless though I've seen enough to suggest he won't be here next season. We've seen manager after manager get themselves into a hole like this and none of them have climbed out of it. If Bruce turns it around then happy days, but I'd rather he fail now rather than damage our promotion chances next season aswell.

Talk of people losing interest but tonight I will be going on my own for the first time this season, four people have said they can't be bothered to go tonight! It is a sad indictment!

Make that 5 achilles lol!
I just cannot justify spending the time & effort nor money to almost certainly witness another car crash. Barnsley are surely a better team than Ipswich so even with us "Apparently" improving bit by bit it means yet another likely loss. They will no doubt all be up for it after us nabbing Hourihane and Bree from them... that's enough in my eyes for another lame home loss.
People spend a fortune on life coaches to lift them out of the doldrums so why oh why would i spend money on something that is almost certainly going to depress me?
I too will be there at the start of next season for sure but as for now 6 years of this dross has gotten to me i'm afraid so i won't be attending.

The current lady wife just asked "who is beating you tonight?" There was a time when this might have caused marital strife but now, what the hell......

Unless you're into S&M in which case I'd find that a rather exciting question.
Had the day off today as its half term and I never think I do enough with my 14 year old. He emerged from his pit at midday and announced he was off to his mates as they were off out and it had been arranged for ages. So much for dads and lads bonding.
Decided to investigate the large collection of Doom Bar that Mrs DK arrived with earlier and it's going very well so far. Oh, first disappointment of the evening is that it's brewed in fucking Burton on Trent now. So I'm buying cornish ale that isn't. Let's hope it's the only disappointment of the evening and Villa romp to a stylish and comprehensive win, destroying Barnsley to such an extent they never recover and get relegated (with the scum).....

This will end up as another embarrassment tonight, the usual catastrophes, lack of passion etc will be in evidence all over the pitch, Brucie will leave his substitutions to the last minute when is far too late, there will be no fluidity, movement, or goals.
Well there you go anything we do now HAS to be a Brucie bonus, am I clutching at straws? DAMN RIGHT I AM.

Yep I think if we work on the principle that "the glass isn't just half full but it's got a fucking great crack in it as well" then as you say, anything more than that is a positive......

Even if we win it's bittersweet knowing that it will be of little consequence.

Oh and we're probably only half hour away from when the team is announced and we all go "what the actual fuck!?"

That will be 'bittersweet' in of itself. And the fact that it will mean more time for Bruce.

Re: Villa-Barnsley
I felt a tad guilty not making the dreary drive down the M6 from sunny Manchester. But having seen that I would have been alone at VP tonight, I'm not so guilty. Just hope that the time when so many miss the game, the team will produce a performance to make us wish we had gone.

As the Ipswich game drew closer the more the feeling grew that we were going to lose. With this game it's the opposite, I've got a feeling we're going to win. We're surely due one.
