Wednesday have agreed a fee of £10M for Rhodes. We should hijack that to stop a play-off rival from signing him.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
I have a good feeling that we've signed the right striker. Rhodes scores goals at this level but never been given Prem chance. I feel from what I've seen and read Hogan has it to step up. Rhodes would have been in the same position next year if we'd gone up. Hogan has more scope for improvement

Ravel Morrison tweeted from a train about 10 mins ago that he was taking a little trip with his mum. He said "next stop...."

Talk Sport are reporting that he's going to QPR.
I have to say though, that the train was a Virgin Pendolino. His journey from Italy to West London would not normally involve taking one of those trains.
And AVFCTransfers has been hinting at a surprise all day.

No he's a prize sugarbag.
I was standing a couple of seats away from him in the Holte a few games back and thought of calling him just that, but he's a big fucker when you get close up to him haha.
Got a lot of respect for Stan's opinions and he certainly has our club's best interests at heart. Very few others in the Media do.
I'm a bit annoyed with him today though. He started an absolute shitstorm on Twitter based, it would appear, on nothing more than a hunch that we've overspent in the last two windows, with no facts to back this up.
I tweeted him to ask where this 'concern' was coming from. Had he crunched the numbers, factored in parachute payments, commercial revenue, actual FFP rules etc.?
He didn't answer although, in his defence, my tweet was thoughtful and respectful, so would have been lost in a flurry of mindless insults, incoherent drivel and the usual boring 'woman-beater' comments. He probably didn't even see it.
The only people who can work out whether we're walking into financial trouble are people with insider knowledge of the Club's accounts, and with the qualifications and experience to interpret them, plus a comprehensive understanding of FFP. The only people who fit that bill are the Club's current accountants and board members and, I guess, the equivalent people during Lerner's last years in charge.
I understand Stan is a qualified lawyer. Not sure about his accounting knowledge but would he have insider knowledge of the Books of AVFC? Possible, but not likely.
No doubt he will say he's allowed to voice his concerns as a fan, but in his position, where his views & opinions reach a wide audience, he should do some research before spreading mass panic.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Ravel Morrison off to QPR so that's a non-starter. Anyway I have to laugh at this post on another forum...
Always someone having a bloody moan isn't there? .."no plan", er how the hell do they come to that conclusion? It seems the "plan" is quite clear to see. Fix the midfield with players who have been amongst the best in the league, fix our right-back position which has been a weak spot and also get a finisher who has been courted by premiership clubs. Sounds like the perfect plan to me.
I actually don't know how I feel about it. On the one hand, it's nice that we have ambition and we're fixing our problems... but on the other, it kind of feels like we have no real plan and will just spend because we can. I don't like that side of football and I don't like that we are "it" for this league.
(Also, FWIW, I think I'd rather have Newcastle's team. Just about.)

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
New signings, Managerial appointments and Takeovers are the only thing Villa fans have had to get excited about. But when it comes to the games it's always the same old story. Club are a laughing stock at the moment and seem jinxed. Westwood will probably suddenly turn into Xavi at Burnly as well.

This was on Bruce tbf. Brentford was good, referee sucked, but ultimately we didn't look organized or motivated. That's only down to that fat fuck.

Bruce needs to make up with McCormack and Hepburn-Murphy otherwise we're woefully short up front. Even if Hogan signs, wouldn't be surprised if that falls through just to wrap up the night.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Just seen that, a big mistake by us letting all of Gestede, McCormack and Ayew go in this window, and just signing the one striker. Actually wonder if trying to bring in Keane would be a good move, I think he's free to move beyond the window, we should definitely look into it.
