Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Well if so that would just crown tonight wouldn't it?
We'd end up with no striker and SWFC get Rhodes FFS.

Next game - and I know it's yet more changes, but we have to have Taylor and Bree at full backs - they simply cannot be worse that the shite there at present.

Hopefully next game:

Subs: Bacuna, Hutton, Thor, Adomah, Elphick, Amavi, Grealish
Let's play 2 up front FFS and actually scare the fuckers for once.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
I think we'll be playing 442 but Hourihane will be in the centre, he's our best central midfielder now. If we're to get the best out of Hogan though we really need to stop hoofing it, he's benefited from Brentford playing a good passing game.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
I think that's a good point mate - from the 20 mins I could bear to watch, I was thinking "what's the point of improving the midfield if you have Amavi hoofing the fuck out of it, and Head-down-hutton sprinting off to nowhere every time we should be building play. What's the point if we bypass the midfield all the time?
That kind of panic quickly spreads.

Doesn't matter what team we put out next game.
We're a busted flush.
Like when sharks smell blood, from now on, every team in the Championship will swagger onto the pitch against us, and turn us over. They know that if they score first, the stuffing falls out of us.
One thing Bruce did when he arrived was to stop us conceding last minute goals, which was literally sending me to an early grave.
So now, we concede them by half time. Cheers Steve. A quick death over a slow one. Cheers.
We are a national joke. A disgrace. Every team hates us cos we chuck money around buying their best players, and then we haven't even got the grace to put the afterburners on and power off into the sunset.
It's like when a rich bloke spends years trying to steal your missus and when he finally does, you find out he's got a 2-inch cock and needs a map to find a clitoris.
I could cope with being hated if it's cos we win loads of trophies. I can't cope with being losers and being hated to boot. It fucks me off.
These players, past players, future players, current owners, past owners, future owners, this manager, past managers, future managers, all fucking managers can all just FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Good post Ranger.
I woke up and I'm still angry at this shite. Can't believe we spend £ 50-100 million in the championship and two blokes paid to manage can't figure out how to beat Luton and Brentford. Fucking amazing.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
I can't help think the long balls from the goalie and defence are what's killing us, we lose possession almost every time. Benteke used to be able to bring down the ball but rarely had anyone to knock it on to and the ball would go back to the opposition. Gabby can't even bring the ball down and Kodjia isn't much better. And yet whenever Johnson has the ball he gives it straight back to the opposition, generally with a completely misguided long kick. Same with Hutton and Amavi, although at least Amavi can cross, something Hutton has never been able to do.
We could bring in two new full backs but it comes down to how the players are told to play. We should have a midfield to link up with defence and attack but at the moment it's still disjointed. Some of that last night can be put down to dropping three new players into midfield and expecting Kodjia to be right on the pace. As it was last night (after the first ten minutes when we looked superb) the midfield neither took the ball forward nor stopped the ball getting through to the defence. That's down to the manager.
Still, I like the players we've brought in. I think though we've established over the last few years that you can't buy a team, you need continuity. That's players who know how to work together and a manager and coaches who know how to get the best of them. Or to put it another way, they all need to have a functional relationship. They just need time to work together and it looks like we might be wallowing around in the Championship for at least another season.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
It's correct that we give the ball away a lot. I think however the reason for this is that the off ball movement is piss poor. The last 3-4 matches I've seen and especially live against Burton it was noticeable how static we are. The players are standing still instead of moving off ball to help team mates. We must be the easiest team in the world to upset. Just keep high pressure on us and the players are shell shocked.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
We haven't had movement off the ball for years. Sinclair kept trying it and aside from the occasional balls from Westwood, no one would pass the ball into space, they'd rather pass sideways or backwards.

Let's hope hogan is happy to be here and doesn't do a mccormack. I'm sure he would of preferred wetspam and was probably told your joining villa. Like prev post above have said too we have to start playing through our new 'amazing' midfield instead of hoofing it up to kodjia. So fuking ashamed how Brentford just humiliated us last night. Fair play to then that's how you do it. Not seen us play like that for donkeys!

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Looks like I'm in a minority of one then in thinking we'll sort this. If we are still shit in a couple of weeks having added Bree Taylor and Hogan, then I'll wrap my hand in for the season and just watch Exeter Chiefs on the weekends instead. I think we'll come good and have absolutely no worries about not going up this season at all. I've said on many occasions going straight back up after being ruined from top to bottom for many years would be too soon. We have to build a foundation and fuck me we can see how painful it already can be. We arrived into the championship probably one of the most fractured clubs it's ever seen and we need time to recover. Yes we're seeing setbacks but I believe that SB has bought well and needs to pick the right team now which means full back swaps immediately for Forest. I'll tell you something else as well, despite the setbacks I've enjoyed the championship far more than the 5 years of shit that went before. I'll tell you something else as well - I know we have to be there but I fucking hate the Premiership and the media circus with a passion - absolutely fucking despise what it's done to football. Another season in the championship putting together a team that can hold its own in the Premiership? You bet, no problem for me, time invested to secure a long term fix is worth it. Bring on Forest, we'll do 'em.
Oh, and other clubs hate us, other fans hate us - so fucking what boo hoo! I'm not planning to invite them over for afternoon tea anytime soon. Good that they hate us, they'll hate us even more when we start Fucking.Them.Up in times to come, oh how they'll hate us.

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
We bring in quality attack minded, creative midfielders & then play them so deep the only out ball is a long hit & hope to a striker that is so isolated he can't keep the ball & it comes back at us.... It's not difficult to see the problems last night. I just hope that SB can see them & sorts it for Saturday...

Re: January '17 Transfer Window
Overall great window except for not getting an able keeper and I think it was a mistake to let Tish go on loan if Jedi becomes a bit of a sick note and Lansbury's risks of cards. Fine balance I know regarding game time but just my opinion
Also apart from the lad from Bury the targets could have been drawn up by anyone watching the championship so our improved scouting network need to find some cheap gems who want to fight for their careers

Tish on loan is good news for everyone though, he (hopefully) gets the game time he wants and deserves and we get him back at the end of the season. He spent most of last season injured so if he gets regular matches we may well end up with a very good player.
We do still have Gardner, and who knows, with some decent players around him he might do well.

Agree about the premiership bring a hateful wankfest. But at least it's on TV. At the moment I get to see Villa once every three weeks. And now I've kicked the satellite package, not at all. But I suspect i won't miss it this season.

An Android box with Kodi is your friend. Won't make the Villa play any better but at least it is free!

Afraid I just don't think it will make a scrap of difference!
We could have Messi and Ronaldo but until we start to play as a f**king TEAM and actually pass, show some desire/intensity and move for one another it is all pointless!
