I was a big fan - but not one of his purchases has worked out. I thought the press were very kind to JT last week. Hogan is one of the poorest footballers Ive seen.
He needs to do something drastically different soon.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Bruce has the next 3 games for me. 2 league and 1 cup. Give him no more money to spend until after those games.
If it isn't 3 wins on the bounce he needs to be binned. Get a new manager in straight away and let him sign someone before the window shuts.

Enough is enough,
Sack him this is getting worse not better. What a joke of a team. Choked last week when we really needed a big start, got lucky against Colchester in the cup and now yet another away day embarrassment at the mighty Cardiff.
This club is screwed, am absolutley sick & tried of it tbh. So much for a promotion season

Mate i could not agree more. This is shambolic. The bloke is a dinosaur of a manager.Villa_Dan wrote:Bruce has the next 3 games for me. 2 league and 1 cup. Give him no more money to spend until after those games.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
We've played 70 minutes of this match now and I've already trying to explain how I feel about sacking Steve Bruce.
I'm in the sack camp, and I think it's the first time I'm inclined to give a manager so little time. I always give managers ample of time to get a proper shot at getting it right, thus I defended him a few months ago when people where going batshit. But right now, I don't know what Steve Bruce is trying to do. I see very very little indication of a plan behind what we're doing. It kinda looks like we're trying to win by possession play with very limited footballers, but whether this is by intention or just a coincidence I don't know.
He picks the wrong line-up every game, he makes the wrong subs at the wrong time. He basically doesn't manage very well. Can't even get his players to get a single fucking set piece right.
He's made unfair and honestly slightly cowardly comments in the media that you expect from people without a winning mentality. Complaining about money and FFP after signing Hogan is fucking daft.
I keep reading Newcastle lost their first two matches last season so we shouldn't sack Bruce, but I just can't agree now. To continue with this man you need to actually see progress. And there is none. He had his chance and blew it.
Then add to the mix that he plays Samba up top, plays Bacuna while knowing everyone fucking hates him. Plays Hutton after signing Bree, and look where that got us. Sorry it all comes down to the sack.
So please Steve, please, get fucked.

Well, there I said it.
Those willing to give him three more matches are definitely better fans than me lol

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
I'd sack him now, but then again I would have sacked him before the season began. I doubt the club will act yet though, Xia will probably tweet how angry he is, and then about how we have to stick together.
Who we're going to replace him with, I haven't got a clue.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Anything beyond the 90 minutes of today's match is nothing more than a waste of time. He and his backroom team have shown that all they're really good at is taking very decent players and making them absolutely shit!
Dr.Tony needs to get someone in now who actually has a clue about modern tactics and man-management. Because it's with absolute certainty now that Bruce has nothing to offer; any win now will be down to the opposition being utterly shit and disorganised.
Take Steve Round and Colin Calderwood, too. Just what the fuck have they offered?

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Either the players we have invested in are crap and the sellers have had our pants down OR they are being poorly managed/ coached with useless tactics and formations. My money is on the latter.
Tracksuit Manager/Coach required.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Bruce has said...
'If we're ten games in and we play like that, I know what the consequences are. I'm under no illusion'.
Seems to think he's got another eight games, hope that's not what he's been told, promotion hopes could be over then.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
To be fair to Bruce, I've just listened to the interview and he did say that, but it was in response to the interviewer asking him if he thought he'd be trouble if we're still playing like that after ten games, so the idea of 'ten gams' didn't actually come from him.
But he also used the same old excuses, no resiliance, no putting our boots on (whatever that means), he also mentioned that we haven't millions to spend.
I've said it before but for me he's way to obssesed with the 'getting stuck in' side of the game, with little regard for the actual tactical side of things and how to use the football properly; probably got away with it at previous clubs, because the coaches provided that side of the game.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
When you have our squad and play like we do, then it's a coaching issue. Full stop.
And Hutton doesn't pick himself. It's this blubbering fuckwit that picks him. He was at fault again, TWICE today. SO WHY THE FCUK ARE YOU PICKING HIM.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
These are our results from the Burton draw onwards
Burton away= 1-1 draw
Reading at home= 3-1 loss
Fulham away= 3-1 loss
Birmingham at home= 1-0 win
Blackburn away= 1-0 loss
Brighton at home= 1-1 draw
Hull at home= 1-1 draw
Cardiff away= 3-0 loss
We've lost our last three away games on the spin and only won one in eight. The man is a chancer and is way out of his depth. But we saw the signs during pre-season didn't we? Him, Calderwood and Clemence simply don't have a clue what they are doing and IF we have any intentions of going up then we better cut our ties with them immediately. Because even if we win a few here and there, I just think it will be papering over the cracks. The man isn't good enough for this great club, it's as simple as that.

Re: The Steve Bruce thread
Here are a few quotes from his interview after the game...
"I have to be brutally honest with myself. I haven't been able to address it (away from). I can't address it."
"I don't want to make excuses. I take all responsibility. I've been here 6 months and I can't get the balance right."
Surely quotes like that have to make Wyness and Xia, take notice.

I wish he would give up and go and tell Xia and Round to get someone else straight away, it'd be the best for both parties. Walk away Steve, walk away.
