I think that's what worries me - I was thinking exactly that tonight - those that aren't dreadful are squad players and the ones that are dreadful, well there's just too many of them.Synopsis wrote:so many players on that pitch that should never get to wear the shirt again.. I was hoping for auto promotion this year but I kidded myself about the depth, the absolute total depth of our on field demise. This could take years to fix.

Shocking really, but we all know that we need to get rid of quite a few yet, were lightweight we need additions with fire in their veins, its embarrasing, we couldnt score in a brothel.

Re: Match thread vs Luton
I'm sure that RDM picked pretty much our strongest side tonight thinking a decent win would bring some confidence. Well it will have had the complete opposite effect. It certainly has on me.

I wasnt really bothered about this competion, what I did want was a performance, a confidence booster, spirit, and we get this.

Indefensible tonight, so I shan't fucking bother. There is a danger that the good will afforded to new ownership and management will dry up very very quickly. We could be toxic before we even get going at this rate.

Re: Match thread vs Luton
Assume we lost. I honestly don't know whst to think. All I know is that we need a lot of signings. We can never get out of this shit if players like Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Westwood, Gardner, Gestede, Cissokho don't get blacklisted. They should all be sold to first bidder asap.
If this squad had any confidence it's surely knocked out of them now. Horrible management by RDM today.

Re: Match thread vs Luton
There's a deep rooted cancer at the core of this club and it looks like it might be a while before we get rid of it.
Richards, Okore, Hutton, Grealish, Gestede and Bunn all played tonight and that's five of the squad who contrived to deliver our worst season in the history of the club.
Gardner and Baker were not good enough for that squad and yet now they are first team starters?
442 doesn't suit this collection of players because our middle duo is so fecking weak while our wingers don't protect their full-backs properly either
Today is a new low and we go into the Rotherham game as rock bottom as I can remember.
It can't be a coincidence that as soon as Richards moved into central defence we collapsed. We saw it happen time and time again last season and tonight it was no different.
The only saving grace is Xia was there to witness it all....lord knows what he's thinking right now.

Re: Match thread vs Luton
RDM and Tony MUST scrap that back four tonight second hald they are all absolute dogshit gone off, Richards Okore Hutton need ridding A.S.A.P or the same lack lustre hapless losses will soon mount up its the same load of shit from last season that got whacked every week so why bother trying to save something that is dead in the water,

And to think, some were sympathetic when Okore had a strop about being on the bench. I've thought for a while but tonight confirmed it - DOGSHIT C UNT.

Re: Match thread vs Luton
Just been watching text updates from the BBC because Sky killed itself and wouldn't refresh about 30 minutes ago and I can't access the official Villa site becuase it doesn't recognise my password and it won't reset. I suppose I should just cancel the standing order and start again, if I can be bothered.
From what I saw, Baker was responsible for the first goal by being too far forward and leaving Amavi to cover the whole left side. Gardner was at fault for giving the ball away.
RDM then made matters worse by replacing McCormack with Gestede, and then playing two players out of position (Okore on the left instead of right and Richards next to him, instead of at RB). You just can't screw over your entire defence like that. The second goal was pinball from defensive chaos and the ball bouncing off Grealish trying his hardest to get back to defend. The third goal wouldn't have happened had Okore been playing on the right instead of the left.
Gardner and Hutton need to be removed from the team immediately.
Richards needs to play RB, Amavi LB.
Baker needs to be moved to backup and a quality left-sided central defender needs to come in ASAP.
Tshibola looked good, and needs somone decent alongside him ASAP.
Ayew seems to be the only effective attacking player, although Grealish looks good. I still think Ayew is our no.10 and should play behind the striker, who shouldn't be Gestede. Our wings are too weak to give Gestede the supply he needs, and we can't rely on Richards and Amavi to do it. We can't rely on Hutton at all.
Sure lots of luck the ball didn't go in their goal more often, and bad luck that it went in ours, but RDM was at fault as much as some of the players for setting us up in that second half to fall.
To recap: dispatch Cissokho, Baker, Hutton (three of our four defenders from the Wednesday loss) and Gardner to the reserves and see if we can find academy players to act as first team reserves until they sort themselves out. Play Richards, new left-sided CB, Amavi and new defensive midfielder.
