I don't understand how this will work. Has it ? - I would put there success down to having the wealth of a country behind them - rather than the buying of smaller clubs.
Im keen for XIA to succeed here - but I think we should concentrate on the job in hand, and forget comparisons with Man City - that takeover was very much a 'one off'. We have a new owner with lots of enthusiasm and grand visions for the future - but the best thing he can do right now is fund our promotion bid .

Man City have obviously expanded their supporter base with their proxies in New York and Melbourne, but neither of those teams fund or support City's success. That has been borne out of spending vast sums of money.

Longterm? Maybe it'll be something which sets them apart from the other big boys but it isn't the source of their success so far.

What it could (and I stress could) do would be allow City to circumvent both FFP rules and UEFA/FIFA rules on transfers of youngsters (something Barca have fallen foul on)

At a lower standard of football he is a big, physical guy who comes off his line bravely. Could look vastly better at this level and, if he takes the wages on offer, might not cost a fortune.

theres no point explaining mate as some people will pick the negatives out of a treble winning season. People slagg the club when we buy unknowns/lack of experience, then they slagg the club when we buy experience, they will NEVER be pleased no matter what. Youre clearly on a different level to me. Tony Xia won't look a complete joke to the football world should we not be be champions of europe in the next 10 years.

If he fails - he walks away - he won't be persecuted by the Chinese government - and shunned from any future business deals.
