Re: New Chairman?
There's no way Dein would join a club in our position unless there was something promising going on behind the scenes. If he comes (& at the moment I'd put more money on the Star Wars film bombing at the cinema) then there would certainly be something afoot.

Graham Taylor is perhaps more likely.

Re: New Chairman?
I can't see Dein either unless there's a buy-out from Usmanov on the cards.
Maybe there's a chance they've told Lerner it's coin-flip time; they've offered £x which is below par and below what Randy expects for a premier league club but still way above what he'll get in a few months time when we're no longer a premier league club.
So Lerner would have to make a decision as to whether he thinks we'll survive or not.
That's the only scenario I can see Dein coming. And I think the odds of that are very very slim. If there's not something else happening to turn this club around, why would Dein come here? Makes zero sense to me.
Thanks for the info, NARLA, but I just don't see it.

It's the talk of BMH at moment but it does sound to good to be true.Trotters wrote:I can't see Dein either unless there's a buy-out from Usmanov on the cards.

Can't see him moving from London, absolutely no need for him to get involved in a tinpot outfit like ours!
Well London is a tad closer than New York...but probably takes longer to get to Brum from if you encounter the M25!!
David Dein would be a MAJOR step in the right direction....we can dream....and he's probably a better strike option than gestede, so win win!!

How would anyone at BMH know who was coming as Chairman?

Someone has been told to paint his name on an office door with the word "Chairman" underneath?

It was overheard at the Arsenal game by someone who was in corporate. It could have been a bit of wishful thinking. My source has done some backtracking on it now.

Cheers Terry hopefully the back tracking is due to being warned off and there's still something in it.
Is your source still positive Narla?
I feel it's a tad too good to be true, as well as an obvious Arsenal link. Then again things will turn eventually, it's just a case of when. Days, weeks, months or years?

Re: New Chairman?
Since Mervyn King has been asked to take role I was asking if the conversation overheard they could have said King and not Dein?

I didn't know Mervyn King had been asked to take a roll. Do you know in what capacity?
