Well a run of easy games coming up and we must be learning that Gestede, Hutton. Lescott and Sanchez are not the answer. The problem is that their replacements don't seem to be either.

We need 9 pts from the next 3 games to have any remote chance of staying up. Any less and we may as well not bother kicking a ball all season and take a 3-0 loss for each game.

Why oh why is Adama only introduced with 3 minutes left? He had two times to run with it and one resulted in a half decent opportunity. I get that he may not be a team player but then look at what he creates. Ronaldo was accused of being the same and look at what he has done! (I'm not comparing the two btw) I just don't see the harm at 2-0 down on throwing him on with 25-30 minutes left.

Even just for entertainment purposes!!!

We don't need to learn it, we already fucking know. Gestede and Lescott are utterly useless, Hutton is limited and a moron at times and Sanchez was struggling today but he has more to offer than the other three.

He needs to learn what we know and I just don't understand why Garde doesn't see it. Then again, we are talking about someone who brought on Traore after 86 minutes Aston Villa v Arsenal Sunday 13th December 2015 - Page 3 1787200310

The thing is, up to a point I share that reluctance because he has a poor deck. But out of that poor deck he picks his hand and decides how to play it. To my mind he's made some bad decisions in both aspects and is repeating his errors. I was expecting better.

Traore, Sinclair, Ayew. Let's at least scare people with some pace because we don't have a lot else.

And to sum it up Lescott running away from the ball for the second goal is criminal.

I was expecting much better to be honest as well, he certainly doesn't help himself at all.
2- 0 down at home bringing on any sub is really pointless in the 86th minute, Remi should have used them all by the 75th minute.

I don't think that he trusts Traore to be disciplined enough to do a particular job and I can see that. With only a few minutes left, that becomes less important and he can still create something out of nothing like he did today.
Grealish coming on for a midfielder weakens us as he is too lightweight to win ball and therefore we are a person light in the engine room. It was more apparent that we lost control of the second half with both him and Gil on.
Veretout is improving (goal aside) and Sinclair was better today. At least he was having a bit of a run at defenders.
Okore had a few hairy moments early on but grew into the game and looks better than either Lescott or Clark.
It also says something that Bacuna seems to be the best fit left back at the club.

To be fair we looked a bit better between 55th and 75th minute. I suspect he waited a bit to see if we got any momentum out of it, but why on earth he didn't bring him on from the 75th minute on beats me as well. I don't think Garde is the problem at all. We just have shite players. I remember Sherwoods tactics and subs. and I'll take Garde over that any day. And that's saying something cause I actually liked Sherwood as a person. I just think he's a shite manager.

The really weird thing about us, is the fact that we tend to have a LOT of possession, even against good sides. We just don't know what to do with it. I think we need to look at a proper winger in January. An Ashley Young type of championship winger, if one exists. Just having that outlet on one side would relieve so much pressure at times. And we really need something else than Gestede. I don't care who the answer may be, but it's not that giraffe.

I'd honestly love it if Sanchez, Gestede, Hutton, Richardson never played for this club again. Get rid. I'd rather play academy players and I seriously mean it.

OK. That cheered me up but also left me depressed at the same time. Look at how poor our current team is compared to that side and the amount that they earn these days. This 'team' is stealing a living.

Exactly what I was thinking. Alan Wright was bloody quality, nevermind Bergkamp. Probably the best attacker I've seen

Gestede hasn't scored a goal in his last nine Premier League appearances. Gabby hasn't scored since March. What this tells me is that if Kozak isn't allowed out to play we need Ayew leading the line and instead of putting on Traore at the very end when whoever starts the game in his position doesn't do a good enough job, let Traore start the match and if he doesn't do it right then make that substitution. I didn't see any of the match but hear Sinclair made a load of (fruitless) runs into space/behind the opposition again. Stick him on the left. I haven't a clue what to do about Sanchez. Stick Okore there if he can't play on Richards' left when he comes back. We're rewarding failure in our strikers by playing them again and again. Garde has to use our best players to their best effect and it seems this isn't happening in either team selection or substitutes. And it must be said that while I like the idea of a settled formation, if the manager can't make the players at his disposal fit into his formation, he needs to try to work out how to play them to their best. If that's a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1 or even a 4-2-3-1 or whatever then that's what needs to be done.

The team that finished the match today wouldn't be too bad.

Ayew with adama gil and Sinclair to feed him would work.
Kozak with ayew Sinclair and veretout would work.

Yet again we seem to be handicapping ourselves by not using everyone at our disposal. Only at the villa!

My boss came in this morning and wondered why I was depressed considering my team won! He thought I was a Gooner, despite me having a corner flag and crest above my desk. The hide of the man!! Absent minded Professor.
Anyhoo, my esteemed Chelsea colleague is equally depressed and after I told him what the Arse fans were singing this morning about us going down with Chelsea, he suggested suicide might be the order of the day. (Not really though)
I got up at 3am to watch this morning. Garde suggested second half was better performance - not sure which match he was watching but I doubt they could score a goal with only the opposition goalkeeper on the pitch.
Completely disgusted but VTID

I stopped watching as soon as Giroud scored the penalty. I knew it was lights out from then on. I'm glad I did because it didn't put me in a sour mood for the rest of my Sunday.

I wasn't expecting us to get anything from this match, and I'm just glad they didn't put 5+ past us. January can't get here soon enough for me. Hopefully, they already have some players lined up for us.

Not a bad match but it's a loss at the end...

Penalty for Arsenal was very generous though they didn't play well. After the first fifteen minutes, I thought it could be difficult to stay in premier league if even when the team played relatively well, referees began to whistle against us.
How Ramsey could finish the game without a yellow card ? He maked a lot of "tiny" fouls to broke the game...Did Arsenal need to do that to win against the last team ?

Arsenal, the apostles of beautiful game ? Only against bad team...I ever said Arsenal was the best team in his first 30 meters...After this match, I know why I hate Arsenal.

Last thing, I know Hutton isn't the best player of the century but I don't think booing every time he touches the ball will make him better...

At least, since Garde is here, team is better. And even though team need points before all, I think if Garde was coaching the team, we weren't at this place. While there's life, there's hope but it becomes more and more difficult if even when we deserve to win, we lose...
