Gooners on Sunday. How will we do ?

It's not guaranteed Arsenal will thrash us, or even win. Okore is probably back in defence and Bacuna looked good (if not amazing) at LB. If we can take the game to them we take the pressure off our defence. Ayew, Kozak and Traore (or Gil) leading the attack, with Veretout and Gueye in the middle. I don't think that's bad, and after the display at Southampton where we actually had all the players showing some fight, I think the manager and his players are up for it.
Kozak won't be anywhere near the first team squad, read the Kozak thread.
I've read the Kozak thread. If he's in the U21s it's for one of three reasons: he's still not yet fully fit (he's not playing every U21 match), he needs to show Garde what he can do or he's being sold in January and needs to be out there showing what he can do for potential buyers. He wasn't sold in the summer and Garde didn't send him out on loan. Sure, if Garde can bring in a striker or two in January it's quite possible Kozak will be sold, but for now it's all hands on deck, and if Kozak is proving he can score goals while both Gabby and Gestede are proving they can't, there has to be some special kind of madness going on that would rather see us relegated than taking every opportunity available to us to do something about it.
Call me an optimist, if you like.
Balls, I didn't see he played for the U21s yesterday. If Gabby starts today he'd better score a hat trick. Or score. Or make assists. Or more than six touches (apart from kick off) in the first half.

Re: Aston Villa v Arsenal Sunday 13th December 2015
Sinclair, Ayew, Gestede. With Gueye and Vertout behind Gestede, I don't really understand. Sinclair couldn't get the ball and didn't work well with Hutton in the last match, whereas Ayew looked very good on the left. Since Sinclair plays well on the left, could it be that putting him on the right means he's going to be spending most of his time running back to help defend?
Unless the plan is to soak up the inevitible pressure for the first 60 minutes while trying not to concede goals, until Gestede and Sinclair go off for Grealish and Traore (with Ayew as striker), when we'll actually look good and start playing well when it's too late?
I told you I was an optimist.

Friend is such a cocksucker. This is my issue with the PL. That pen would never ever fucking ever been given the other way. Corrupt shit league. English game is just broken.

Guzan is so shite at communicating with his defence. Jesus wept.

That's a blatant foul on Gana. Friend is basically giving them 3 points.

Forget the foul. None of them gave a flying fuck about winning the ball back. They were walking. We're meant to be scrapping for every point! This is pathetic, what a feckless bunch of work-shy fuckwits.

We have not had much luck but the players need to look at themselves after how we defended that breakaway.

Absolutely, it ended up 3 v 1, the Villa players didn't even try to get back, turned the TV off, can't stand watching that utter, utter shit anymore!
Quite honestly it is not fair on anyone around me as it just winds me up so, so much!

I wonder did anyone give Friend an earful at half time. Little things like that are important.

Re: Aston Villa v Arsenal Sunday 13th December 2015
Made the decision to stay awake for this (in Melbourne) but regretting it.
There's no fight in this team, no one seems to give a shit or that's what it looks like anyway. I'd rather we just give the likes of Lyden, Green, Hepburn-Murphy a run out. They surely can't be much worse than this pathetic performance? They'd show more passion and desire when wearing the shirt. I didn't expect a result against Arsenal but for us to just roll over onto our backs for them is ludicrous.
The whole club is a shambles! I just pray that when (no longer an IF in my eyes) we are relegated - Lerner fucks off instantly, the team is restructured allowing more of the youth who have been banging on the first team door to play and maybe a season or two in the championship will help us play as a team as this current squad don't seem to play like much of a team IMO.
I feel sorry for anyone who travelled today.

Just on the narrow issue of full backs, Hutton must have cost us as much as Richardson by now.
We are going down and we deserve to. Once you accept that, you can get on with your life.

And the fucking commentator I've got on is doing my head in. Even the mistakes Arsenal are making are apparantly with intent and good play. Even when we got the play it's all about what arse does or not. Does my head in.

Hahahahahahahahahahah the referees in this league. Whether it's Friend or Mike Dean. You have to be a blind liar to claim they aren't dirty. It's so fucking obvious I don't get why I bother

The fact that us having 4 corners has been referred to as "remarkable" probably says everything to be honest.

I think we've been turd this half as well. If Arsenal had not switched off, they could probably had 5 goals by now
