I'm seriously struggling to read what you're writing.

Lets just disagree. I think he's another overhyped academy product. I'd be surprised if he's career was better than Steven Davis.

I think luxury implies you get something positive though have to pay a price for it. I really fucking wonder what positive aspects to our game Grealish bring?

I like Westwood, but he had a pretty bad game today and we should have started Sanchez in that position. I have, however, been banging on for ages about Sanchez coming in as a second-half sub (he just hasn't been fit enough) and thought he did a really good job today. So much so I think we do need to start him, but we do need someone to come in as a midfield enforcer when he or someone else gets knackered and the opposition puts on fresh legs.

Garde set us up incorrectly today, we can only play that formation if we have a coherent attacking plan with the players to make it work, and defenders able to soak up that kind of constant pressure and at the moment I don't think we do. Grealish is an attacking player, he can't defend for toffee and needs someone behind him to do that, so in the case of a 4-3-3, Gueye. In the first half, Gueye, Veretout and Westwood did an excellent job defending the middle of the pitch, so Everton went down the wings, especially their right wing which we failed completely to defend.

Going back to Grealish, he's the kind of player who excels at open play, not being couped up in his own half trying to defend. I'd rather we played Gabby there in a 4-1-4-1, although saying that if today's display is anything to go by, I'd rather see us do something different away, with Ayew on the right. He was stranded in the first half but really came alive in the second. Again, like Grealish, he needs to be played in the correct position. Maybe the 4-1-4-1 would have worked better had he had some support. It would definitely have worked had we had a counter attack threat! I'd love to see two or three players hotfooting it down the pitch whenever Guzan gets the ball, it would give us a proper counter-attack threat and take some of their players out of the attack.

It must also be said that Everton looked superb today. Imagine if we had that kind of movement off the ball.

Another thing, Westwood ventured over the halfway line a few times in the second half and instead of running at the opposition, he passed sideways or diagonally. Grealish started off running at players, and getting fouled in the process. He seems to have stopped doing the first, and drawing the fouls. We need to have players like Ayew (and Sinclair) who are happy to run at the opposition, and to run into space when off the ball.

By the way, what happened to Kozak? We saw pictures of him training this week but nothing today. I'd much much rather see him and Ayew leading our attack.

I bet Sterling would look shit if he was brought up not playing for Lambert, then dropped into our team by Sherwood and told to defend by Garde. Grealish with a decent team around him with free flowing attacking play would look miles better than he does with Richardson to (occasionally) play with. There's a reason all our attacking came up the left today, and it's not Grealish's fault.

I do agree that he was the wrong player for that position today. Whether we have a player suited to the left side of a four-man midfield is another question.

Well yes. But I also bet Richardson, who's one of the worst footballers I've seen in 30 years for us, would look a lot better playing for a better team. That's how football works.

Grealish for some reason is thought off very highly without ever showing us any of it. I thought he was good against small heath, but that's it. And it's not shocking that was against a championship team either. He just isn't that good. I'll gladly eat pie for a year if he shows me I'm wrong.

I've seen him live, and I thought he was okey. He was young and had a very good first touch and wanted to play modern football. He hasn't improved since unfortunately.

Now I won't respond to your posts anymore I'm afraid. I simply don't understand half of what you're trying to say. Sorry.

Grealish unfortunately has believed all his fanfare!

He needs to 'cool' off in one of the lower leagues and come back with his feet firmly on the ground and his head out of his arse!

Potentially could go either way, his attitude will determine where he ends up, not his redoubtable talent!

What do we do with the defence though? Clark can play LB but who to replace him in the middle, Lescott? Recall Baker? At least Baker puts his balls on the line and doesn't hang around watching what's going on like Lescott does. Can we play Illori on the left, or do we rely on Crespo? Whatever happens we will be playing someone out of position at LB if we don't recall on of the two we have on loan. Is Kinsella good enough? Or can Okore play on the left?

I'm not sure if playing Richardson out of position on the left is worse than playing Clark slightly out of position there, and someone else out of position as left sided CB. Remember when Vlaar was injured and we saw the disaster that was two left sided CBs in Clark and Baker?

Fuck me sunshine, your written skills are.... challenging.

Anyway, Richardson was by far the worst of a shit bunch today. Involved in almost all of the worst parts of the match and a terribly cynical attitude to his game. Total waste of wages, in my opinion he's always been shit and now we're fucking lumbered with him.

Without a proper replacement for Amavi, we are going to get abused over and over again down the left.

If we don't play Rudy in every game until January we are down. At least he provides a focal point and holds the ball up. Give the midfield chance to catch up and start an attack. If we can't keep the ball up there we can't score

Honestly this team is so bad it deserves to be relegated.

You can point to individuals that are good but as a team this lot don't gel.

There are too many bad attitudes and controversial characters in the squad as well. I don't even want to like this team.

I also don't like Villa fans sometimes, especially their small-time chants about Birmingham City. That the Birmingham City chant, the one for Agbonlahor, and "Villa, Villa, Villa etc..." are the only tracks they have says it all really.

The fans need relegation to get some new ideas.

Anyway back to the team.

If we had kept Benteke would things have been different? Yes, given how few points the bottom clubs have at this stage this season it is possible we would be just outside the relegation zone.

But a single great individual does not make a team. The presence of Benteke masked greater failures, which have now come to light.
