By just about all accounts, this deal is very close. According to some weve just entered into exclusivity meaning it could be 6 weeks plus. Some saying it's only NOW known that the club has entered into exclusivity but this, in fact, is nothing new and, as such, we're at the crossing T's and dotting i's stage. So I don't think it's a matter of someone on the inside spilling to an Internet nobody, rather the club are not as tight lipped around their employees as they might have been a few weeks back.

One of our members stated last week that some staff members have been told they'll be surplus to requirements and given a leaving date. So the wheels are in motion, only now it would appear those wheels are making noises.

I still think we could be 4 weeks away but NARLA has connections with the playing staff so his post would suggest it's closer than that.

Personally, I' will fucking amazed if the official website still lists Randolph Lerner as the owner come the end of July.

I can't post their names plus they won't say a word anyway. I'm not saying they've got a day by day report on where the negotiations are at but there's definitely people on here (I'm not one of them) that know the names of the buyers and where they come from!

It's more than three,late last week all was revealed apparently. Than all the popular sites locked threads or removed posts. A poster on here has been dropping massive clues for a while only to stop when the names came out. I suggest you go and read the last two weeks of this post on here and then when the the new guys are revealed it will become clear who knew what.
We are all fans and we all want the best for Aston Villa but if knowing the names means risking Lerner backing out of a deal because he feels trust has been broken then I think it's worth keeping quiet, especially if as rumoured 30 million of the 180 million is going to be given back for transfers as a goodbye gift from Lerner.

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking its strange that 3 people know the name of the potential new buyer.

I'm no lawyer but surely the NDA mean that no one really should know and if this info gets out the Randy or the new owner could end up suing the ass off someone????

NDA 's will only go as far as protecting the accounting privacy of the club, it's method of sale, etc. If DD has been completed, terms agreed, hands shaken, introductions are being made and announcements planned then NDA's won't cover that sort of thing.

They can't.

New owner X is waiting behind closed doors at a press conference but a reporter or fan has seen him in the car park having a cigarette 5 minutes earlier and tweets about it isn't going to make him tear up a contract, get back in his private jet and fuck off home.

Protection of information/identity will run until such a time as it no longer matters. I believe we're getting very close to that time.

I have no idea if it is Howard or not but if it is we don't know who his backers are or who else he may have on board. For all we know he may have managed to get an investor worth billions on board. I'd also trust Howard to always do whats best for Villa, I certainly wouldn't trust Paul Smith to do that!
