Not read it, but could be 3m per year?! That would be an increase. Albeit not as big as probsbly hoped for. I'm happy to wait and see. As I said earlier I woundnt be surprised to see a stand or ground sponsored for a much bigger fee which in turn would dilute value of the shirt deal as they wouldn't be the only sponsor partner. Something to speculate on. Any new owner may wish to do this straight away.

Worth noting that with the club up for sale and long term plans not known may well be a tough arena to secure large deals. Any new owner could come in and try and tear up existing deals. Chelsea and Man City did it I think.

£3m for the two years is really poor. Charlie Wijeratna got sacked from Tottenham for not being able to generate any relevant sponsorship and I can see the same happening here if this is anything to go by.

To be fair he wasn't really given much chance at Spurs...Levy wanted him to find £20m stadium sponsorship, a little unrealistic!!!

For those using the snapshot of the shirt with the new sponsor hoping it's not macron, if you look at the same picture on the official villa site, the same pic is used announcing the deal but clearly has the macron logo on the shirt.

Who confirmed the price to the Birmingham Mail? Was it someone in an official capacity at Villa? Was it someone at Intuit who gave them the figure? No, they don't bother to make calls .... that would involve proper journalism, it's easier to invent a figure that will get a reaction.

Dafabet was worth £5m per season wasn't it so it's a similiar deal. The Baggies fans thinking they're bigger than Villa will be gutted about this news, if true of course!

Yeah definitely and just shows how much bigger we are than them lot. Shame that The Mail had to guess at a figure that seems to be well wide of the mark.

In this instance the stated sponsorship value. They'll want to put a value in the piece so have probably guessed at best.

Not all stories are bollocks of course, but they are rarely 100% accurate

But why would a company that sponsored wba for £1.2m .....suddenley sponsor us for £5m per year.

So the estimates are ranging from £3m - £10m for 2 years ...

In the matter of two pages we go from Fox has done really poor (at 3m) to wow, great work at 10m haha! neither figure is a fact (at this point ha) I'm going to have an educated guess at it being a fair bit higher than the Dafabet deal and certainly not less!

I do think the Mail have become very lazy with Villa stories and have probably gone (as stated) WBA got 1.5 per year, so at 2 years that's 3m and attached it to a story. Villa are of course very vacuous and without facts, people tend to make stuff up. As a PLC we don't have to declare this and why should we? I wouldn't...

Whether Baggies fans like it or not, and despite recent league standings, fact is we're a much bigger club than them. They're simply not on the same level. They're punching their top weight, we're considerably under ours.
